$40? Sounds like a set of Samson SR850 will be the best thing you can get your kid.

They are going to be far superior to any Beats or Skullcandy offering. They also look way better too (IMO.)

If you're just picking out what looks coolest, you're going to be replacing them often, as those particular brands aren't well known for quality of sound, or durability of construction.\

There's also the Koss PortaPro ( https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-koss-porta-pro-x-headphones ) , Koss KSC75 (https://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1525894494&sr=1-7&keywords=Koss+portapro ) , Sennheiser HD206 ( https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-206-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B06X92G8HG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1525894606&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+hd206), Monoprice 8323 (https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=8323&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8IqH4LD52gIVHLjACh1L1Am4EAQYASABEgJxY_D_BwE),

Samson SR850s + Zalman Mic. The samsons are amazing and blow every other headset I've heard out of the water. They are the same headphones as the Superlux 668Bs, so perhaps you can find them on ebay more cheaply than amazon.
Here's a head-fi review of the SR850s.

If you want something more expensive, see this Head-fi thread.

u/furriesforpresident · 4 pointsr/buildapc

What? IEMs are In Ear Monitors which means earphones that have a flat response curve (bass and treble not exxagerated to get sound close to source) So are you looking for Headphones? If so these look good $32 used.

u/Quagga_1 · 4 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

IMO the best affordable closed headphone is probably the Takstar Pro 82 (or 80, AKA Cloud II), but to keep it under budget you need to order via AliExpress.

And the best open headphone under $50 would probably be the Samson SR850.

Thought these would be a good starting point on some new stuff.

Also, maybe consider using Equalizer APO to get the JBL LSR305's to match No Audiophile's settings, and maybe give us your review of those settings.

Personally, every time i've tried to make music on an iOS device I've given up in frustration. It might be fun for fooling around, but the interface drives me crazy and makes me want to do just about anything else. This is just my opinion maaaan.

In terms of software, I'd start out with REAPER as a DAW because you can get started right away on your gaming rig for free. It has a 60 day evaluation period, which can be extended until you are overcome by guilt. You're going to have to dig around the net for free VST virtual instruments and sounds, but they're out there. Buy a cheap USB audio interface, and a cheap mic and start working on your own music. You can record acoustic instruments, vocals, and random sounds with one of those mics. I'd find a cheap pair of open back headphones for mixing, and use whatever closed back sound isolating headphones you have lying around for monitoring while you're recording.

I think the best way to learn music production is to force yourself to produce music on the regular. To that end I'd suggest learning about songfight.org, which is an online songwriting and production contest that happens roughly every two weeks. There is nothing like a firm deadline to inspire you to create. You're given a title, and you write, record, and produce a song with that title. People on the Internet vote, and there's a winner. Folks on message boards will often give you feedback on your song so you can improve. Also there is a podcast that reviews the current batch of songs, so at the very least you're gonna get some feedback from those jerks. Disclaimer: I am one of those jerks.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Reddit's very own r/Gameofbands which does something similar, and might hook you up with folks to collaborate with.

You can safely ignore the compatbility warnings https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kHQGGc

The 3600 is much better for pushing high framerates than the 2700, up to 20% better. The extra cores offered by the latter arent really used for gaming even in 2019.

Changed to the gaming plus max which is practically a less pretty tomahawk but comes with the new bios of the 3600.

3600 mhz ram that ryzen likes and cheaper than that rgb ram.

Instead of overpriced samsung ssd+overpriced 1 tb hdd i got you a 1 tb NVMe drive. If you need moar storage get this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Cs4gXL/hitachi-internal-hard-drive-hua723030ala640

The 5700 xt is decently more powerful than the 2060 super.

The meshify c is infinitely better than any nzxt case, includes a couple of fans and has great airflow.

550w is all thats needed for the build but this 750w one was so cheap that i just couldnt...

u/HexaHx · 3 pointsr/edmproduction

I'm using a pair of Samson SR850 that is just $50. It seems to be having great reviews and it is working quite good for me. The highs are quite bright but after some break-ins it should fix itself.

u/SHADOW6 · 2 pointsr/headphones

I believe it, theres a lot of truth to what you say. The bottle neck is the source. As years advance we're getting shittier and shittier artists producing music. There a lot of digging for quality work.
You have a lot of people huddling to protect the amounts theyve spent or the free market which isnt actually being discussed.

But rather the realistic nature of things.

The title audiophile is realisticly a hobby. And people buy these art pieces to explore a new world..

As a collector the HD800s would be a nice piece to have with their own tube amp. The x2/27s i think im going to get ive been told the compliment the 800s and im a big fan of that open ear feel.

On this front, if you don't need a mic on PS4, I highly recommend these:

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/

I use these for mastering, and the soundstage is phenomenal, and for $33? Holy shit! Amazing! And they are semi-open back, so you aren't locked out of your environment (someone in the room can still communicate directly with you, like a hungry pet, or a pet who needs love - always remember to put down your controller and love your pets). But don't worry - the outside world does not intrude, nor does what you are hearing in-game bleed into the outside world (as can happen with true open back headphones).

u/JPacSon · 2 pointsr/PS4

I highly recommend the [Samson SR850](Samson SR850 Semi-Open-Back Studio Reference Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_T69VAb1TMEYW2) for gaming; similar to the K702 but I assume much easier to drive. They’ve been great for music and gaming. They’re semi-open so the soundstage is greater than probably most closed back headphones that are under a $150. I use them for my consoles and PC and haven’t had any trouble driving them with any of the console controllers.

Can’t go wrong with them for $32 in my opinion. I’d also get some nice pads for them, like some Brainwavz pads.

I can actually send you a pic of mine with the pads on them if you want.

u/kikimonster · 2 pointsr/headphones

Grado's are really bright, and you should really try them out before getting htem. Some people really like the Grado sound, I personally don't. Also the dt-990 you linked has 250ohm impedence, meaning you'll need an amp to listen on it properly.

These are a common suggestion for a gamer.

I just put in an order for the Samson SR850 for gaming myself.

u/swiftlysauce · 2 pointsr/buildapc

avoid gaming headset, buy a good pair of headphones and a seperate microphone, you'll get much better sound quality for the price, especially in the headphones department.

For $70, I would recommend the Samson SR850 headphones with these Velvet earpads because the stock earpads are pretty bad, but the headphones sound GREAT for the price. Build quality is average.

For a mic, the Zalman ZM Mic1 is a common mic. It sounds great and it easily attaches to your headphones cable (those Samson) have a pretty thick cable so it won't fall off).

ALTERNATIVELY:

Superlux HD 668b Identical sounding to the Samsons, but are designed differently, sometimes are cheaper, those earpads are still recommended)

Superlux HD 681 or 681 EVO They basically sound like the 668b/SR850, but just a little worse overall, but you won't beat them for $30. The earpads are still recommended.

These headphones are a steal for 30 bucks. Go through the trenches with these, especially as a beginner. Not only are they budget friendly, they are great reference headphones.

u/Robfu · 2 pointsr/musicproduction

Highly recommend these, I bought them NO REGRETS.

They are comparable to my $300 Sennheiser headphones.

But they only cost $30:

Samson SR850 Semi-Open-Back Studio Reference Headphones - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_hRU9Bb23HEPYT

There is no better bang for your buck. They're studio quality for this price. They're very light you can wear comfortably for hours.

u/Probably_Unicorn · 2 pointsr/headphones

Your best bet is either the Samson SR850 or the Superlux HD681 EVO (Also comes in white).

Both would be the most neutral within your budget. Personally, when it comes to classical music soundstage is what really makes the genre shine. Some semi-opens will give you the effect, and I have personally used the SR850s in the past. Still look back at them affectionately.

u/neren · 2 pointsr/makinghiphop

These headphones are just over $30, I do most of my mixing in them due to my recording space not being well-treated. Is it ideal? Definitely not, and I gotta test my mixes against different environments (car speakers, earbuds, etc), but is it better than nothing? Absolutely, I think the quality of my mixes turns out pretty good, feel free to check them out.

u/JuanSattva · 2 pointsr/FL_Studio

For someone with a tighter budget I'd personally recommend the Samson sr850's. Don't let the low price lead you on, they are surprisingly competent.

u/kare_kano · 2 pointsr/headphones
u/thomasfrank09 · 2 pointsr/headphones

The difference is that the headphones will be of lesser quality for the price with a built in mic.

My suggestion? Get the Samson SR850. It's $50 and is one of the best gaming headphones out there - it's got the wide soundstage and awesome imaging of the AD700, but has way more bass and is cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Semi-Open-Studio-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1318627165&sr=8-1

Scroll down the page and you'll see "frequently bought together" - there will be a $10 Zalman mic that clips on to your headphone cord. That's all you need.

u/infiniteray · 2 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

With out breaking the bank and buying some AKGs, I personally run a Xonar DG with SR850's with a clip on zalman. It can be found for 4 dollars on sales, but is essentially the same mic they throw into head sets and tac on an extra 20 bucks for. Most mics are pretty much the same in quality until you start dropping some pretty phat cash ($50+) on studio mics.

In the exact same price range, some people prefer sony's v6. They run a bit 'bassy-er' than say the sr850's, but some people prefer that.

If you like spending money, there are some nice Sennheisers and AKGs out there in the 300+ range that audiophiles swear by, but im not familiar with them or have had the pleasure the try some $1k+ setup that they have, so I just stick with my 'entry level' gear (A sound card, head phones and a clip on mic).

But I guess people could also argue the fact that that they simply don't like have two loose cables running together like that (I personally 'weaved' mine together) and that a headset is there for convenience.

I'm a big fan of the Samson SR850 full-size headphones.

u/ben_db · 2 pointsr/todayilearned

I have Samson SR850s that are basically the Superlux HD668B, they're fantastic!!

Side by side blow they the shit out of my friends beats and less than 25% the cost.

u/dekomsx · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Then you definitely should try for something else.

I got this pair which works very well with glasses, though they are a bit bigger than most headphones and can look funky at times.

u/ninrod · 1 pointr/buildapc

I know you said cans, but these are still awesome and they are less then $50 if you have Prime:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002LBSEQS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00

I just bought a pair and they sound amazing. Games sound great and I have no issues with pin pointing where a sound is made.

Biggest complaint (if that) is they feel cheap. They do feel like mostly plastic, but they hold up well. I've already tossed them off not thinking and they withstood the fall.

They are very comfortable as well and don't require any DAC or amp.

u/FinalBossDad · 1 pointr/SRSGaming

I picked up:

  • Dynamic Mic

  • Headphones

  • Boom arm

They are all working great so far. The headphones are a lot louder than I expected, but are also open air so I can hear other stuff going on in my house. This makes my wife a lot happier than my old pair of closed cups :)

The only drawback to the dynamic mic I've seen so far is that I have to be VERY close to it or my voice volume drops considerably. I guess that is just a "feature" of that type of mic to prevent picking up noises it isn't supposed to be. I set up my boom arm to shove it literally into my face, an inch from my mouth while I am sitting back in my chair to play the games.
u/StDoodle · 1 pointr/letsplay

I don't have the greatest amount of experience with audio, but I have a pair of Samson SR850's that I've been very happy with. That'd be just $60 for two pairs, which is pretty decent.

Also, I would always recommend using headphones rather than any kind of speakers if you're going to do any voice recording.

Of course, if you want different volume levels, that's going to depend on many other factors involving your exact setup, so it could be more or less work depending; but still probably a good way to go.

u/WarlockSyno · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget: ~$100 total

Source: Desktop (Custom build, no sound card, Z77 Intel Chipset)

Isolation: Pretty good, using it for gaming and video editing.

Last night my cats broke my Logitech G35 set. I do video editing and like to play games. I'm looking to stay within a ~$100 budget for the microphone (preferably one that clips onto the headphones.)

I was looking at the Samson SR850, but not sure about the microphone. The Samson looks a little more comfortable than it's alternative.

I've never really done shopping for a quality pair of headphones before, so this is all new to me. I've never used open, or semi-open backs before.

Please let me know what you guys would suggest!

u/Kolt45ns · 1 pointr/edmproduction

Samson open back, I got them for 40$ on amazon they're way underrated..the open back alows the music to breath in my opinion...the stereo imaging makes it so its like siting in the room with the musicians and you can visualize the different spectrums placement way easier...also your ear fatigue is nearly gone...i never thought it would be so clear of a difference, but it is..the only issue is maybe someone else is in the room and doesn't wanna hear what your listening to...even still they're pretty quiet and I can't beleieve no one has ever mentioned them to me sooner...im sure for more money in your 200$ you can get something way better if so let us know? I got the Samsons for 40$ and I'm amazed I could only imagine what the higher end ones sound like

Unfortunately the SHP9500s are £110 here, so not the best value.

In terms of open, how good are these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samson-SR850-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/

https://www.amazon.co.uk/P-Howard-HD681-Superlux-Headphones/dp/B002GHIPYI/

I've seen graphs that make the 681s look really neutral but loads of people seem to be saying that they have a very strong V shaped curve, which is confusing to me.
SR850s seem to be an update of those, not sure which would be more neutral.

I have found HM5 rebadges for cheaper though - £45 delivered from https://www.studiospares.com/Headphones-and-Speakers/Headphones-Studio/Studiospares-M1000-Studio-Headphones_448760.htm

Are HM5 (M1000 here) a lot better than SR850 / HD668B / HD681 ?

Interestingly, they seem to do an open version called M2000, which i've read are less neutral and don't really sound "open".

Indeed HM5 seem to be a rebrand themselves of these:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/495561/review-fischer-audio-fa-002-and-fa-003-two-to-tango

So, need to decide between those cheap open ones I mentioned or the rebadged HM5 for a tiny bit more. Whichever is better quality really.

Or would Sennheiser HD558 for £60 be better value?

Or can you think of any other open possibilities?

Thanks!

Other options are the Monoprice 8323 whenever it comes back in stock or the Samson SR850.

I gotchu.

Good: Beyerdynamic DT-990

Better: Sennheiser HD 650

EDIT: And for the desperate, Samson SR850.

u/existeddoughnut · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

Everyone else is saying to go with Superlux, but I would go with Samson SR850s because they aren't that much more money, and look A LOT more comfortable which is more important than some realize. For the mic, a Zalman Clip-on mic will work just fine.

  • Budget - Under $50 soft limit
  • Source – laptop computer
  • Requirements for Isolation – This will be used mostly at home, so isolation isn’t very important
  • Preferred Type of Headphone – I’m looking at full sized or over ear, but really anything except IEM
  • Preferred tonal balance – I want an overall balanced pair of headphones
  • Past headphones – He has mostly used cheap Logitech headphones
  • Preferred Music – acoustic music. These headphones will be used more for guild wars 2 and youtube/netflix video watching more than anything else.

These are going to be a gift for my dad for Christmas. I was looking at these on ear headphones, but I wanted to know if there was something better for games/netflix/youtube in this same price range?

Awesome! I genuinely look forward to hearing it come together! I appreciate you being so receptive to the feedback. I had a feeling you were mixing in headphones (and most likely closed shell too). This can really screw with you, and is generally considered a no no. However, with a good pair of open shell, you can improve significantly. Eventually, I'd recommend investing in a pair of good monitors down the road (6" should be fine for you to start).

Until then, these are all solid choices, without making too much of an initial investment. I would recommend the Bayerdynamic, as they're just really solid altogether, but sometimes the drivers pop and you'll get crackle and hiss. I have two pair in my studio (close back for recording) but I've heard nothing but good things about the open shell (for mixing):

Beyerdynamic

I think I'm gonna buy these based on r/headphones recommendations: Samson SR850.

u/Riadon2 · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

You don't need a dac/amp with cheap headphones, and most are very easy to drive and probably wouldn't even scale up with a dac/amp.

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1541965603&sr=8-9&keywords=akg+m220 ~ $29

You can get a cheap clip-on mic for less than $10 that will sound at least as good as the mic on a cheap gaming headset.

Personally I would spend more than this, but you can definitely get better quality than gaming headphones at this price. Really, I think people should be spending a similar amount on their headphones as on their GPUs, most gamers are totally neglecting audio because they have no idea of the difference it can make.

There are some very affordable, pretty decent headphones that are reasonably flat and neutral, with decent frequency response, that are suited to production. A popular pick is this $34 Samson pair: https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=open+back+headphones&qid=1568599255&s=gateway&sr=8-9

Seems worth it to me if all you have is earbuds or colored media speakers. Less than the cost of most popular soft synths...

u/buddy_the_guy · 1 pointr/headphones

I've got it narrowed down to three options. My budget is <100, I was considering the Samson SR850 or SR950 or the Beyerdynamic Custom Street headphones. My question is what benefits do the SR950 offer over the SR850? The 850s are only 30~ dollars and I need to know how much difference there would be in sound quality.

SR850 https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1516410109&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=samson+sr850&psc=1

Beyerdynamic https://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-Custom-Street-Headphones-Black/dp/B00UK7ZTUY?th=1

What is the meaningful difference between these?

u/Net_Bastard · 1 pointr/AdviceAnimals

As a Samson SR850 evangelist, I shall say only this: get Samson SR850's. They're only $55, they're extremely comfortable, the build and sound quality is amazing, and I just can't sing enough praises. They aren't the best at keeping in sound, but that's literally the only problem I have with them.

You can view them over here, and buy them here.

I'm just looking for something with good quality sound, that it comfortable for long periods of time. They'll be used for gaming, and listening to music. Thanks!

Will definitely include more info if needed.

  • Budget: ~$50.00 USD
  • Source: PC
  • Requirements for Isolation: Some would be nice but otherwise don't really care
  • Preferred Type: Over ear
  • Preferred Tonal Balance: Basy / Balanced
  • Past Headphones: Turtle Beach, Cheap Sony stuff
  • Preferred Music: Everything from EDM/Dubstep to Hard Rock/Screamo to Indie stuff

I have done some looking around on Amazon and I think I have narrowed it down to:

  • This JLab's Bombora

  • This Samson SR850

  • This Sennheiser HD419

Are these on par or would you recommend something different? I was really leaning toward the Sennheiser's but can probably be swayed.
u/camicazi · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

the HD 419 are closed headphones, if you want headphones that are great for competitive games they should be open design. But I havent tried them so I dont know how they sound. These should be better for about the same price, but I would recommend upping your budget to at least 100-200 dollars to get a nice improvement from the astros.

u/jgweiss · 1 pointr/headphones

To add:

I am somewhat interested in these Samsons with this mic. Has anyone had any experience with these phones, or this mic? I am very intruiged by the detachable cable, and if this soltuion works it's probably my best bet for durability..

u/RIP_Fitta · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

Honestly i wouldn't trust many review sites these days, Most of the time i see any sort of review on any item the person doing the review has no expertise on the subject. Have you seen the Cuphead review? These are the type of people that review products.

As for headphones:

The superlux 668 or the Samson sr850 are very good for their price and will sound just as good and even better than the cloud 2's in some areas.

For ~$100 you can get a pair of ATH-AD700X . They're the best headphones in their price range/price-performance to me. They sound amazing. The ad500x's/ad900x'z are also really good for a little less/more.

Why would you buy the OS, you can literally download it legally just with the Not activated logo and even if you want to activate it, just takes a few minutes to do so.
Also you dont need the coolers really unless you are a professional or enthusiast who overclocks and stuff. Even if you do ryzen's wraithe is pretty good i assume.
As for headphones go for Samson SR850

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Semi-Open-Back-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

Mouse go for Logitech G102, its pretty good (Also check out Rocketjumpninja for mouse size reference before buying)
As for keyboards look for Red Switches ( Assuming you are gaming) I use a coolermaster ck550 and personally I like it more than the ROG Claymore my friend has. Also i would recommend you saving the money from the os and buying a razer huntsman elite or any of the flagship keyboards from corsair or steelseries.

u/BL00DBATH · 1 pointr/buildapc

Monoprice Gateron blue keyboard and 8323 headphones are both highly acclaimed for value. Promo code "scorcher" for %15 off. If you need TKL then there's no shortage of Outemu switches for $40 or less, this Teswell looks good. I haven't used these keyboards but I've bought two of the headphones. I have a pile of $30 headphones that I've reviewed and none come close. Pair them with a Neewer lapel mic or V-Moda BoomPro. In the middle ground you might try this generic desktop mic or one of the many others like it, mine sounds well enough but the BoomPro plainly takes it. At the next tier Superlux 886B or Samson SR850 with a ModMic or Blue Snowball are great during sales. Don't fall for 'gaming' branding.

u/test822 · 1 pointr/GlobalOffensive

let me read a little more of that thread, so far only one of the dudes is lauding the takstar phones and it's not enough evidence for me yet

I've also heard these are also good

Samson SR850

http://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8

edit: did some more digging and it looks like people are slightly preferring the Takstar HI 2050's over the Samson and Superlux. Although one guy did complain that the bass/mid/treble sounded too separated into 3 zones and said they sounded cheap, but I've heard the takstars really need to be burned in for at least 100 hours before they loosen up and start sounding great but who knows.

also consider an open design headphone. if you're going to be using these for gaming a lot, the increased soundstage will make it easier to hear directional footsteps etc

Budget: 20-60USD

Source: 3DS and Samsung Victory phone

Requirements for Isolation: Isolation would be heavily preferred

Preferred Type: Over-the-ear headphones (earbuds are a no-no)

Preferred tonal balance: No idea, something with a decent balance I suppose

Past headphones: Just some cheap gaming headphones and earbuds

Hey guys, I'm new to headphones and I was wondering what sort of over-the-ear headphones would be good for carrying around and using mainly with my 3ds and phone. My budget is around $20-$60 and something with good sound quality and good noise cancellation would be amazing. So far I'm looking at these Samson SR850 Professional Studio Reference Headphones or these Panasonic RP-HTX7-R1 Monitor Stereo Headphones. What would be the best bang for my buck that also suits my requirements?

u/Audioheiser · 1 pointr/headphones

My Sennheiser HD180's broke after 4 years of use and now only outputs from the left side without any tension on the wire. Now I'm looking to upgrade with a budget of $100 CAD, tax-in. I'm trying to find something with similar but more refined characteristics however I'm having trouble finding what I need/want. I'm only going to plug them into my laptop or phone for home use 95% of the time. I watch a lot of movies and listen to a lot of hip-hop, so looking for all-round headphones with good bass.

Basically what I'm looking for is:

  • Over-ear cups
  • 3m+ length cord
  • Better audio quality than HD180, more clear, better bass
  • Light and comfy (Good for 4+ hours)
  • Very durable (3+ years use)
  • Under $100 CAD with tax
  • CANADA ACCESSIBLE

    I've found these so far:

  • Superlux HD 681
  • JVC HARX700
  • Sennheiser HD 449
  • Sennheiser HD 205 II
  • Koss Ur40
  • JVC HA-MR60X
  • Monoprice 8323 (No Amazon Prime or other retailer in Canada that sells it for under $50 so it's kinda out)
  • Samson SR850

Not really sure which ones I should get or just go the safe route and buy the HD201's. If you guys have used any of these, let me know :)

Edit: Trying to decide between the Samson SR850's or the Superlux HD681 Evo.

https://www.amazon.com/Samson-SR850-Professional-Reference-Headphones/dp/B002LBSEQS

They're less than $50 and all the reviews are pretty solid and seems like the headphones are comparable to $100-$150 ones.

u/klbcr · 1 pointr/croatia

A i stanu ti u budžet.

Možda drugi imaju bolje prijedloge.

u/joe_noone · 1 pointr/audioengineering

That's what I like about the Grado headphones - they're open back and have much more spacial sound. Also for earphones some have a hole that give it more spacial sounding, but I've not found any that are that great in those terms. I've heard good things about the AKG K240's as well - they're a semi-open headset. If price is a a factor there's also the Samson SR850 for ~$40.

Let me know what you decide on - I'm always curious what others think/use.

u/oxkwirhf · 1 pointr/SiegeAcademy

Probably in the minority here, but sometime back I needed a better pair of headphones than my cheap China ones for R6, and also for casual music listening. Did a lot of research because I wanted the best bang for my buck (can't bear to spend too much on material items), and I settled for this Samson SR850 pair.

Its not too expensive, and the reviews are stellar, comparable with headphones of a much higher price bracket. I haven't had the chance to try out the much more expensive headphones, but so far for R6, sometimes when spectating a friend who I know is using HyperX Cloud, I am able to pinpoint sound more accurately than he could.

u/Luvs_to_drink · 1 pointr/headphones

Budget - $50

Source - sound card

Requirements for Isolation - would prefer they block out background noise, I want immersion!

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Hell no.

Preferred Type of Headphone - full sized

Preferred tonal balance - prefer balanced with bass leaning

Past headphones - Used Steelseries v2 and an earforce px22. Loved the steelseries v2. They were comfortable as shit and sounded great. Hated the px22. sound was bleh and the mic only worked with the amp which created a hiss.

Preferred Music - EDM, edm, and classic rock

What would you like to improve on from your set-up: better sound and comfort. A detachable cable would be nice as my v2 needed replacement since the left ear went out. The px22 headband actually cracked on me which is why im looking for new ones.

Currently I'm looking at these

u/supremetoaster · 0 pointsr/pcmasterrace

Logitech G35 is basically 2.0 with fake sound effects to replicate a "distant" sound noise that sound "like" 7.1. When I used it I spent about 3 hours configuring the 7.1 because the bass leaked over wrong channels and made awful incorrect sounds. I ended with using 2.0 and no drivers because it destroyed the audio and some games it didn't play the audio through right earphone, this happens to my friend too.

Samson 850 theese sound incredible and the surround sound feel is dramatically better with these than the expensive Logitech G35.

Sorry for comment novel :)
