I had these issues. Replaced my USB card with a proper SSD drive, no more problems. Using this Sandisk rugged SSD drive.
This is the one I bought and I've been happy with it. Sometimes it's even cheaper than it is currently.

EDIT - It needs to be at least 240GB for the Xbox to allow it, but any size you want bigger than that is fine. Any game you install on your SSD will load faster than before.

I went with this one from SadDisk
But you really can't go wrong as long as you get a Solid State Drive (SSD), it is at a minimum 240GB, and supports usb 3.0. If you get an internal SSD you need to by an adapter that supports usb 3.0. Anything smaller than 240GB and xbox won't recognize the drive as game storage and won't format it correctly to store games, it will only let you store music and movies and those types of files.
This works well and comes in different amounts of storage.

And 2tb for 60 bucks way too cheap to be a ssd. I got a sandisk 250gb ssd for 60
