> Yeah but no one uses disc based technology to play games anymore, they just use them for installation,

Like literally every Wii-U title?

>Also they still do tend to fail when used frequently. Just look at how many N3DS users have their save data lost from failed micro SDs.

I won't sit here and pretend Micro SD is the holy grail, but I can't help but wonder if they were actually using quality Sandisk cards or the cheapest budget storage they could find. If this is such a pertinent problem, why do reviews not reflect this?

> Also FUD?

Fear, uncertainty, doubt.

I've bought the SanDisk Extreme Class U3 micro SD card before the 950/XL came out, because 4K video recording on my 1520 was already pushing the Class 10 micro SD to the breaking point.

Your issue is 100% related to the micro SD writing speed.

This is a good deal: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Adapter-SDSQXSG-064G-GN6MA/dp/B010NE3N3S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1473355867&sr=8-4&keywords=sandisk+extreme+micro+sd

EDIT: Better yet is the deal that /u/bws2a linked to: https://www.reddit.com/r/windowsphone/comments/51rtcg/i_took_a_slew_of_photos_last_night_and_a_3_minute/d7eanr7 although I personally prefer SanDisk on Lexar.

You may have issues as it is only a class I card. Class 3 is recommended.

You want UHS class 1, speed class 3.

I know, this is confusing. There is also UHS class 2, with speed classes 1-3.

UHS class 2 is fastest, but also more expensive. I have this UHS class 1, speed class 3 card. Sorry for link formatting, I'm on mobile and lazy.

Card is set as internal storage, phone is blazing fast, records and plays back 4K and HD video with no problems.

> Okay, so putting Android OS on it will just make it more efficient/better at multitasking things?

Yes, sort of.

Getting the Amazon cluster of Apps out of the way, and letting pure Android OS take over is your fastest path to efficiency.

But, in fairness to the overlords @ Amazon, they don't generally suck at those kinds of projects.

With only 8GB of internal storage be sure and add a MicroSD card like one of these:

SanDisk Extreme Plus

Samsung EVO Plus

I had a Sandisk Extreme+, significantly faster write speeds and much faster read times. Those slower cards work 90% of the time, but when multiple apps access the card the system will randomly bottleneck.

Oh well :/

I originally thought that the Best Buy was the better deal, because the MicroSD card that comes with it is valued at $50, but I see them on Amazon for $25 (for Prime members, at least).

The card that comes with the Best Buy deal is a Sandisk Extreme Plus 64gb Class UH-1. Currently listed at Best Buy for $50.

Here it is on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-microSDXC-Adapter-SDSQXSG-064G-GN6MA/dp/B010NE3N3S

So, essentially, the Target option is exactly the same value if you get the SD card for $25.

Target: $60 Gift card - $25 SD card = $35 to spend on accessories

Best Buy: $35 gift card - Free Card = $35 to spend on accessories

I'd agree with the assessment. For adopting as internal storage, I wouldn't recommend a u1 card. Go with a UHS-1 / u3 card
