I used one of these and altered it a bit with some tooling, stuffed the gold version of these in there (gold is out of stock now), a couple switchs, a few resisters, one of these to regulate power, one of these displays that no one makes anymore, a 2 gig sd card, and a programming cable. Most of the effort comes from the graphic design part though as I had to learn font lab studio, adobe illustrator, and adobe fireworks. I'm a programmer first, so the coding wasn't as big of a deal as the graphics stuff.
If you are using the included SD card to print, it is the issue. I personally experienced this when I got my mini. I bought this card and it works. I had other cards lying around but they didn’t work since they were too high in gigabytes. So this I would suggest to purchase this one.

The printer really doesn't like anything bigger that 2gigs.
Try formatting it as either fat16, or (probably less likely to work) as fat32.
I know where you can get another guaranteed to work card: Monoprice has then from around $180.00 (US). But, they come with a free Delta Mini! :-). (ha!)
2gig cards might hard to find. 1 gig cards might be easier.

i had the same issue. i found no matter how i formatted, only certain cards would work.

I’m telling you get a 2 gig micro from amazon and it will work so much better. This is the one I got.

That’s the one I have used successfully with my minis. I’ve never had success with an sdhc card
