It is only as dangerous as the tools you are using. I advocate using oral syringes to administer nicotine. Here is a link to 1ml oral syringes on amazon
With this syringe and a good glass bottle like this I see no reason people can't take on 100mg nicotine as long as they use gloves.
If you want to make some juice you have menthol or "cool" feeling it's pretty easy.
Get some Koolada and Menthol (PG Suspension) from The Flavor Apprentice and a couple of 1ml and 10ml syringes.
Measure out 10ml of juice you want to mentholize and add 0.5% by vol of either koolada or menthol. So you'll add 10*0.005 = 0.05ml of flavor. Shake extremely well and test (ideally in a dripper so you don't use much to throw off the %), if it's not mentholy/cool enough for you add 0.05ml more.
Once you know how strong to make it just scale up the 10ml addition.

I only use a needle tip for my Nicotine and my PG. All of my flavors are just the syringe - no needle. Here's exactly what I purchased from Amazon to use for my flavors. You get 100 of them for $12 (or the cost of 2 packs of smokes - that's how I price all of my vape supplies).

those syringes work with the needles from allegromedical if your looking for a cheap alternaitve instea dof paying 51+ for a 100 box

Just to add to your post, someone on /r/diy_ejuice taught me this trick a long time ago.
Buy a box of 1ml syringes like this one from amazon, and use a rubber band to attach the syringe to each bottle of flavoring.
Reusing the same syringe for multiple flavorings leads to a cross-contamination of flavors. I learned this the hard way when my entire collection started smelling and tasting like TFA honey.
For anyone using FST, especially SS's FST, I would recommend getting a box of 1ml oral syringes, like the ones in the link below, to measure your liquid to exact 1/10th's of a ml. And OP is right when he says that SS's new batch of FST is very strong.
