Sand the metal contacts on the door. For the contacts inside, if they're corroded, you can get a scratch brush that will reach down in there and be able to sand it up.

It will clean off the rust. Clean out the chip area then put the touch up paint(dealer brand)-multiple coats. That will be good for a long while.
The best tool to do this is a fiberglass brush. You gently scrape away the mask and you won't risk breaking the trace.
It's your coin so do whatever you like.
If you want to clean dug coins there is a special pen w/ replaceable fiberglass rods insert made for jewelry cleaning. They work really good.

I haven't see fiberglass knives, but I have seen fibreglass pens.
I had a similar rust spot on my civics hood. Bought a fiberglass scratch pen from Amazon
(https://www.amazon.ca/Scratch-Brush-Fiberglass-Colors-vary/dp/B0019V18D2) which worked awesome. I tried gluing sandpaper to a pencils eraser but the control wasnt good when sanding.
Then applied Dr colorchip to seal it up. Worked great but I know your hood isnt a factory color. Im sure some shops might be able to colormatch.
Good luck
Get one of these and shine the contacts when you have issues.

Wouldn't help too much. I'd just recommend going through the above steps.
Also, rubbing alcohol and a nice fiberglass pencil can help as well in some cases.
