I've seen some weekenders on this sub and really liked its clean look. I was surprised to see on the amazon that you could buy them in various different straps, at many different prices. I chose this one as an homage to my alma mater. The indiglo is a nice touch.

Next up to purchase for me are either: the Casio gold calculator watch, the Casio gold world time watch (though I like the classic illuminator one as well, not to mention I'm torn between gold vs. stainless steel), or the Seagull 1963 . Also debating between the Casio MVD106 and a Seiko diver (so many options...).

Everyone on this subreddit recommends to steer clear of fashion watches, but I like to recommend that you get a watch that YOU WILL ENJOY AND LIKE. You will ultimately be the one who will be wearing it anyways, so why not get that Mickey Mouse watch you been eyeing?

But as a fan of horology, I'd recommend these watches that have similar designs to what you linked above.

Not exactly sure where to find a panda styled chronograph with time indicators at the 12 and 6 area, but here is one from Seagull. I'm personally not a fan of the Seagull brand. Mechanical movement

Little more than 300, but it's a fan favorite among this community. It also comes with an automatic movement

I'm not sure, I've never even heard of Claude Bernard. My guess is they buy ETA movements (which are "technically" Swiss), put them in a case, and claim they're "Swiss Made". For my money, I'd rather spend it on a watch with verified history, like a Seiko, or Citizen. Quartz is fine in your situation, if you want a chronograph, since automatic chrono movements are complex and expensive to manufacture. The one exception I can think of, if you really want an automatic chrono, is a Seagull 1963. Great watches, legendary Chinese watchmakers, and on my list for my next purchase. As a final point, "Swiss Made" doesn't mean quality, per se. In your price range, most of the nicest watches are made in Japan (Seiko and Orient), Russia (Vostok), and China (Seagull). Shop around and don't get too hung up on the Swiss label.

edit: I also just realized the Nighthawk isn't a chronograph. I didn't take the time to think it through because I don't really like them.

I really like the panda look of the Seagull 1963, but I'm not sure how good it is as a watch. How's the build quality? Is it worth the money? If not, are there other watches with similar style that you would recommend?

In fact, Seagull the watch company (related to but not the same as the folks who make the movement) makes a lovely panda dial using this movement:

It's not as racing-oriented as the Lamberti or any of the other panda dials that use orange hands (like the Helgray Silverstone), but it's still pretty boss.

Ah, I misread it. You want Paul Newman’s Daytona, but couldn’t quite match the $17.8 million top bid :-)

Not my area of expertise, unfortunately. That said, citizen eco-drive watches are good at that kind of price point. They do some nice looking chronos.

The Dan Henry 1963 is quite classic looking, sold as a pilots watch, but honestly, looks like it belongs in a car too.

You won’t get an auto Chronograph under $500. Seagull do handwinding watches at that price, if you like the styling.

Actually a lot of options, so you'll have to suss out what tickles your fancy. A few off the top of my head:
