Seiko SKA371 is a well-known kinetic diver model. Big & tough.

Seiko Kinetics. Best of both worlds, charges off movement but resiliency of a Quartz. Even if the battery doesn't hold much of a charge movement should keep it going.

I've had one of these for about three years and it's pretty indestructible, and I like the fact that it doesn't look overly 'sporty', so that I can get away with wearing it with just about anything.

I've also owned a couple of the seiko automatic watches, which are fun but, being automatic, need to be periodically set (my last one ran slow by about 5 minutes/week). While I enjoyed owning a 100% mechanical watch, I appreciate the reliability of my kinetic.

That being said, if I was buying a watch solely as a prep, and didn't care about the aesthetics, I would probably just buy an ugly digital Casio GShock and some extra batteries.

What leathers do you wear more often? See, in my opinion, if you're rolling with brown shoes, brown belt, you're going to look silly with a black leather watch.

What are your thoughts on rolling with something silver? (presuming you don't wear gold)

WSIWT: Aged bark Vibergs. No picture because I was running late this morning.

AOTD: Nope, but I've only been in this hobby for a couple years now. I don't know that I'll ever wear a pair out to the extent that a resole wouldn't make them wearable again.

GD: I have this guy to look forward to this afternoon. The kinetic movement seems pretty sweet to me.

GD2: It was pretty rainy this weekend so I didn't get any pictures for the wear and tear thread. I think I'll probably do a few reviews this weekend though for my newer Vibergs and possibly a 1 year update for my Aldens.

You've got the wrist to handle a BFK. The Mako isn't gonna be big enough for you, it wears smallish.

I'm a big fan of the Seiko Kinetic Divers. There are multiple options, but this one is really striking.

These watches are solid, heavy, and have excellent grip on the bezel. You can actually scuba dive with these watches, but I probably wouldn't recommend trying to break any depth records.

The nice thing about these watches, particularly with the metal band, is that you can wear it with pretty much anything, and go hit the beach with no issue.

I have the yellow and black model. I'm unsure if it has become a collectible or not, but I wouldn't pay $500 for it that's what the seller on Amazon is asking).
