You don't have to spend that much on headphones and just about anything sounds better than ear buds. These Sennheiser's are only $30 and sound pretty decent.

Sennheiser HD-201.
I'm a musician and engineer and use them a lot. They're not entirely acoustically "flat" but they live in a place where build quality, design, sound quality and price meet up in a sweet spot.

Sennheisers aren't all expensive. 200 series headphones go for around $20. Here's the HD-202 and the HD-201. There are also lots of deals to be had with Sennheiser, like foundsleeping said. I similarly got a pair of $180 phones (HD-555) for $70 on Amazon. Just keep your eyes peeled.

And yes, just about any Sennheiser product is worth the price they charge. They make fantastic products.

u/Omega_Maximum · 6 pointsr/wiiu

So the Wii U supports any kind of wireless headset that uses inline interruption, i.e. that it basically gets plugged in between your audio cable and the TV. The Sony Gold Wireless headphones have their own USB receiver to work over wireless, and since Nintendo doesn't have any drivers, nor anyway to install the USB drivers, it won't work over wireless. Xbox One is the same way, to those who say it works. Works great plugged in via 3.5mm though. Now, that being said, the Wii U has the capability to support wireless headsets though bluetooth, but Nintendo hasn't released or licensed any as of yet.

If you want to try some wireless cans though, maybe give these a shot: Sennheiser RS120. While I can't vouch for these particular pair, I do know that Sennheiser makes a good pair of headphones, and these will work with just about anything with RCA (red and white) or Headphone out.

As to a pair I can vouch for, while these are wired, they're spectacular, and they come with a 7ft cord: Sennheiser HD201. There certainly are better headphones if you wanna spend a bit more, but they're great for what they cost.

Hope this helps mate!

u/gravyenema · 6 pointsr/buildapcsales

These are not worth $40, but definitely worth $25. I have the HD335s which is the mobile version and they sound pretty good. Still the HD201 is only $20, and the Superlux HD681 is only 6 bucks more.

u/twich35 · 6 pointsr/pcgaming

Razer makes good mice, not headsets. Get a Sennheiser
Lower priced
Higher Priced

And just use this mic. It works great, and is very clear. I have never heard of pulsewave as a competitive brand, and that headset doesn't look as sturdy as most Sennheiser's.

Sennheiser HD201 Lightweight Over-Ear Binaural Headphones $20

Zalman Zm-Mic1 High Sensitivity Headphone Microphone $10

Those are the only budget headphones and mic I'd consider. It will sound much better than any gaming headset at even twice that price.

u/formerly_ex9gagger · 4 pointsr/buildapc

I wouldn't buy gaming headsets. Just buy a nice pair of headphones (eg. Sennheiser HD 201) + a nice external mic.

As for keyboards, I'd look into buying a mechanical keyboard.

Mice are personal preference

EDIT:

Here are some link

Sennheiser HD 201

MonoPrice Mech. Keyboard

As for mice as I said it's preference. it also depends on wheter you are a claw-gripper, palm-gripper or whatever. Maybe if you have a store like BestBuy or something around go there and test some mice.

Nice Zalman Mic.

u/helpimstuckinabox · 3 pointsr/buildapcsales

The Monoprice 8323 is only a couple bucks more and is well received by the headphone/audiophile community iirc. Of course, I recommend checking out /r/headphones and looking around there or checking the links on their sidebar.

EDIT://
Also I don't know how generous you're being with that $20 figure, but you can still find the Sennheiser HD 201s on Amazon for ~$25 if you're still interested.

u/Wazanator_ · 3 pointsr/buildapc

For those wondering his budget in $ is about $7070

Info I dug up on the games

League of Legends recommended:

  • 3 GHz CPU or better

  • 4 GB of RAM

  • GeForce 8800 or better

  • 12 GB of disk space

  • Windows OS

    SMITE recommended:

  • i5-750, 2.67 GHz or better

  • 4 GB of RAM

  • GeForce GTX 560 (or 768 MB+ of VRAM (DirectX 11 Compatible) )

  • 10 GB of disk space

  • Windows OS

    Counter Strike Global Offensive recommended:

Valve says you could basically make do with a computer from 10 years ago but let's be honest you probably don't want everything on the lowest of settings.

  • 3 GHz CPU

  • 4 GB of RAM

  • A graphics card from the last 5 years

  • 8 GB of hard drive space

    ----

I'm not too great at picking out parts but I'll see what I can do about other things that others aren't taking into consideration such as monitors.

So just as a heads up this is going to be tricky because you live in Italy and I have no idea what kind of price increase you can expect or who ships there or what.

Place I would look for buying bulk:

  • Ebay

  • Amazon

  • Alibaba

Have you also considered maybe asking companies to sponsor you? If you could get a few to send you keyboards, mouses, headsets, whatever it would really help lower your costs without having to resort to inferior products.

    Companies I would try contacting:

  • Logitec

  • SteelSeries

  • Razor (I don't care for their products but they do this kind of thing quite often it seems)

  • Cooler Master

  • Corsair

You have I would say two choices when it comes to the OS, Windows 8.1 Full or Windows 8.1 OEM. OEM will save you about $13 a piece but it is a non transferable license and if say someone gets over excited and spills a big glass of soda all over the computer and just frys it you will have to rebuy Windows. Personally I think it is worth the extra $13 to know that you won't have to rebuy if worse comes to worse. Assuming you go with the Full version that's going to run you $1052

However you could probably get that in bulk as well from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/default.aspx

Monitors are another thing one can typically buy in bulk. Personally I would go with something like this Acer for $120, 21.5 inch, 60Hz, it does only have 5ms response time but unless you have very very high ranked players it shouldn't make a huge difference to most people and going to a lower response time is going to increase the price. Plus this is something you can always easily upgrade in the future and sell off the old ones. Buying refurbished monitors isn't a bad idea either.

Sites that sell bulk monitors in addition to the above:

Keyboards and mice. So you can definitely buy these in bulk but they will be the kind you would see in an office, probably not what you would want to game with. Personally I would contact companies like Logitec and Steel series and see if you could work out a deal and have them cut you a price cut for maybe putting up posters and advertising their product. But hey both Logitec and Amazon sell some really cheap wired keyboard mouse combos for $15.

Mousepads are all over the place and you can even make them yourself if you are feeling thrifty enough. $5 each seems reasonable to me for a decent mouse pad so $50 altogether.

Headset I would go with over the ear cheap so when they get nasty you can just toss them and not feel to bad. For $20 you can't do much better then these Sennheisers I feel.

For microphone I would maybe go with some clip ons like these or maybe a cheap desk stand one. You could go for an all in one headphone + mic but price to quality wise you are going to be spending more then you could if you got them separate I think.

So just as an estimate I would say without even building the PC's you are looking at probably somewhere in the area of $2,400 just for things like monitors and peripherals. Please tell me you already have table and chairs because that's going to kill your budget if you don't.

Could you review the Sennheiser HD201's as a pair of budget headphones? They're $16 on Amazon.

u/codepanda · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

I've been using these for quite a while now (not sure how they differ from the 202s other than price and style). Originally I got them to replace my crappy earbuds until I did some more research into higher end headphones, but completely abandoned that idea after using them. They're built solid, have good sound, are comfortable to wear... I wouldn't even bother with noise canceling (unless you were in a vey high-noise environment), people are constantly complaining that I don't hear them talking to me at the office. I will probably never spend more than $25 on a pair of headphones now.

Edit: one note on the comfort issue, they do become a bit uncomfortable after wearing them for more than an hour or two without a 5 minute break... so if you're looking to do some long stints you should probably look elsewhere.

u/baphometsrage · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Not an expert on sound but I switch between these and these that were on sale for about $5 cheaper each when I got them but definitely worth the pretty solid quality for their low cost even not on sale

u/GrandmaFunk · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I agree. Sennheiser makes good cans for the price. These headphones are inexpensive ($25), good quality, and durable as hell. I am convinced they are indestructible. The only con/pro is that the cable is 10 feet long.

The HD201s are nice too.

u/ship__ · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

These and these have active noise cancelling

However most closed back over ear headphones tend to have pretty good passive noise cancellation, so here are some.

I wouldn't recommend the Bluedio headphones if you have biggish ears, all the others look fine.

u/WhiskeyChick · 2 pointsr/breakingmom

I snagged a pair of my partner's Sennheiser studio headphones (he's a musician) just because they have really cushy ear covers since they're meant to be worn A LOT. Behringer also makes some great inexpensive and comfortable ones that they sell with their podcasting kits. It really comes down to what your preferences are. I like big visible ones for working and earbuds outside of the office. edited to add specific headphone links for the curious

u/no_re-entry · 2 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

If you wanna stretch your budget a bit, these have been my favorite budget headphones.

Sennheiser HD 201

u/GiggaFlicka · 2 pointsr/VoiceActing

Based on what you mentioned as your budget, I'd recommend purchasing a USB type of condenser microphone. Unfortunately, anything under $40 isn't going to sound too nice when recording. Your best bet is to up the $40 to $50-ish and get a Blue Snowball.

https://www.amazon.com/Blue-Snowball-iCE-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B014PYGTUQ/ref=sr_1_21?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1519757795&sr=1-21&keywords=condenser+mic

It's a nice mic and it'll do you justice over any other mic in the price range. As for headphones, I'd buy these: https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-201-Lightweight-Headphones/dp/B0007XJSQC/ref=sr_1_12?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1519758135&sr=1-12&keywords=studio+headphones

Does anybody know of some good in ear headphones which are relativity cheap (£40ish max) but still really good?

The same question but about over ear headphones, cheapish (£40ish max) but really good? I was considering these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD201-Closed-Back-Headphones/dp/B0007XJSQC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1312201282&sr=8-1

u/Dusk777 · 2 pointsr/gaming

Sounds like his mic is the main problem. I too was looking for a new headset recently. A friend asked if I had any decent headphones, which I did (sennheiser hd 25's) so he suggested just getting this mic:
http://www.amazon.com/Zalman-Microphone-Zm-Mic1-Sensitivity-Headphone/dp/B00029MTMQ
and tbh it's the best mic i have ever used, i was even sitting on it the other day after it came unclipped and everyone could still hear me.
So for about ten bucks you can get him that mic, and then he can go get a decent set of headphones, maybe: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD201-Lightweight-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B0007XJSQC/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1312200004&sr=1-6
This will be the cheapest way to get a REALLY good headset setup. Gaming specific headsets cost a lot for a decent one.

u/skerif · 2 pointsr/FL_Studio

These aren't too bad if you need a cheep replacement, they get a little uncomfortable after a while but the sound quality is good for the price. I quite like these as well but they are very fragile and break easily if you're not careful.

u/maltawind · 2 pointsr/headphones

For closed-backs to prevent sound leakage, maybe the AKG K44 or the Sennheiser HD201.

Unfortunately both come with longish cables, but you can braid them if you want which is really easy.

u/DonutDisturb · 2 pointsr/battlefield3

After looking for a good but cheap pair of full-cover headphones years ago I settled with the Sennheiser HD 201. I'm still using them for gaming music and movies, not a single problem ever.

I'm sure you can find better now but I would recommend Sennheiser. I use a separate mic as I don't really like gaming headsets.

u/zedhed2 · 2 pointsr/edmproduction
u/Draksis314 · 2 pointsr/headphones

Is the Sennheiser HD201 a suitable alternative? They seem a bit less bulky than the Monoprice.

u/heyheythrowitaway · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

What I'd suggest is maybe buying some decent earbuds or [headphones (Sennheiser HD 202 $25)](https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-202-Professional-Headphones-Black/dp/B003LPTAYI/ref=sr_1_2?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1468998322&sr=1-2&keywords=headphones]~($8-$25) and a lapel mic - $5 for now (~$3-$5), then save up for a good system (possibly even separate headphones and mic) when possible. The combos aren't always the greatest, especially lower price models (and for just gaming, a lav mic works more than fine.) The microphone is going to likely be the same exact quality as a ~$30 gaming headset. I'll occasionally just clip the lapel mic onto my headphone cable or my shirt, and works just fine. I think you'll be much happier with sound quality from the headphones too. You can even save $10 and get some Senn HD 201 lightweights

u/caek5 · 2 pointsr/edmproduction

No. Your room probably isn't treated and cheap speakers like this won't be beneficial when mixing. You should get headphones instead. If you want to stay within the same budget ($25), I'd suggest the Sennheiser HD201. The sound is amazing for the price.

u/HannasAnarion · 1 pointr/explainlikeimfive

It doesn't need to be super crazy good unless you're an audiophile. I got mine for $25 and they have decent enough sound, a really long cord, and have lasted five years so far. Only complaint is that there's a plug coming from both ears, rather than only one side, which is a style I like more. These are mine.

Looking for advice on buying some closed-back (or even noise cancelling) headphones for my 70 year-old dad.

He recently had eye surgery, so I wanted to send him a care package. I'm buying him a parrot to go with his eyepatch and a large print book on African history, but I wanted something nice to finish off the present.

He's not a fussy man, so even if I could spend loads (I can't) he wouldn't really notice.

My priority is for them to be noise isolating so that a) he doesn't annoy everyone around him when he plays prayers at full volume on his ipad and b) he can put them on to block out his noisy grandkids. Also I'd like them to be uncomplicated (i.e. not too many removable cables etc) if it can be helped.

I have a budget of £50-£100. Preferably from Amazon UK, as I have a £50 voucher to use.

I was looking at the Sennheiser HD280pro but I'm unsure.

I also saw the Sennheiser HD201's but they might be TOO cheap?

Any suggestions?

u/SuperGiraffe · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

Personally, if you can spring for $50, I'd get a pair of Sennheiser 201s and get a clip on mic like this one.

u/Knocking · 1 pointr/CabaloftheBuildsmiths

>1x960 is gonna last him forever

At current, it struggles with getting 50fps in FC4 at max without AA. It will certainly not last him "forever", and SLI 960s still can't push 50fps in Crysis 3 at 1080p. SLI'ing middle tier GPUs is generally not the best idea, particularly when the pair costs more than a 970, while still losing to it.

Um... do you mean these Sennheiser 201s? What is he upgrading to?

u/piegonmc · 1 pointr/SMPdoneSensible

I'm not sure on any headsets that might be work ok, I went thru a couple trying to get comfortable ones myself and never managed. Would a set up like mine maybe work, I have my Mic to side of me on a Boom arm so can move it out the way when not using it and wear a pair of cheap sennheiser headphones that are really comfortable, they are over ear, so the whole ear fits in.

u/unknowndude34 · 1 pointr/gaming

I can recommend the sennheiser HD 201 (Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-Headphones-iPod-iPhone-Devices/dp/B0007XJSQC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1376927841&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+hd+201 ) ! When it comes to mic, I would look into the mod mic. Haven't tried it, but judging by the reviews, it has pretty good audio http://www.modmic.com/

u/Bribase · 1 pointr/starcitizen

It's always best to buy from the better headphone manufacturers. They're a known quantity and they've been making headphones for decades. Get the cheapest ones from Sennheiser, AKG, or Audio Technica. Then maybe add a cheap boom or label mic.

u/PositronCannon · 1 pointr/blackops3

I soundwhore just fine with this, thank you very much.

That is, unless they're using Reaper. A particular specialist having way lower footstep volume than everyone else is hardly "something that is built into the game", since there's no way it's intentional. Regardless, you still need to spend 3 points in order to make full use of sound regardless of how expensive your headphones are, so the "free perk" thing is nonsense.

u/tcooling · 1 pointr/gamingpc

I swear this question comes up everyday. The advice that is always given with regards to headsets is to buy some headphones and a cheap clip on mic. For your price range I would recommend these Sennheiser headphones and this clip on mic.

Hello, and thanks in advance for any help. I am hoping to get a pair of more quality headphones, for use at home and around town. I am very new to the 'audiophile' world and haven't really paid much attention to what is getting the sound into my ears. I would appreciate if anyone would be willing to guide me through buying some headphones and maybe explaining some of the common lingo used to describe the sound of headphones. (Highs, Mid-ranges, Smooth, Strong, ect.)

There are a few headphones that got very good review or were recommended around various sidebars and suggestion threads that I was considering.

Premium Hi-Fi DJ Style Over-the-Ear Pro Headphone

Sennheiser 201

I don't know how lightweight or easy on the battery they would be.
___

Budget - 50 USD

Source - (A laptop) computer and iPhone.

Requirements for Isolation - I would like some degree of noise isolation, the more the merrier, because I will use these in a variety of situations, including in public, classrooms, or on public transit.

Preferred Type of Headphone - I would probably want over ear headphones.

Preferred tonal balance - I would appreciate significant bass, but I don't like it drowning other things out. As for highs, mids, and lows, I am not really sure what this terminology means. I suppose an all around balanced sound is what I am looking for.

Past headphones - The older apple earbuds, cheap IEMs, a short stint with a pair of Beats-like bluetooth on-ears (had some sort of bass amplification I think, not good for some of my music. they broke).

Preferred Music - I have been listening to an ever increasing amount of classical music. A lot of full orchestral pieces. Due to the nature of these pieces I want to be able to pick out instruments from the rest as the melody cycles around and changes, so I don't want the bass ( or any other range) to be too much more powerful than the rest.
I also have a significant amount of electronica and rock.

If you're on a budget, which you could be after spending $50 on a microphone, the Sennheiser HD201s are probably the best thing you can get for your $25. I create music as a pastime and I have to say, they feel way more higher-end than the price suggests.

I don't think You can't find headphones with better durability on a budget than these. I have them on my head right now. Great Bass, great confort, for the price obviously. 3 years and counting

u/Shadow703793 · 1 pointr/buildapc

At the $50 price range, your best bet is the Audio-Technica ATH-M30, ~$43. Just get a clip on mic if needed.

Mini review of the ATH-M30.

PS: If you are willing to save up more for a quality set, get some thing pretty cheap and basic now like the HD-201; $20 now. I use the HD-201 as my traveling cans (ie. flights, long car trips, etc) and they work very well for the price.

Then get a quality set of cans in the $150+ range (ie. HD555).

Well that's a good thing to know about the grados; some of the amazon reviews complain about the same thing.

I had my eyes set on the Sennheiser 201's or 202's as my non-premium choice. I don't know if I'm ready to plunk down over 100 dollars on a set of headphones yet if I was still on the fence about the Grados. I like the earbuds, so maybe I'll try my luck with these as a first step.

I've been using this Sennheiser model for three years, purchased after researching high comfort models. Beat out $75 models in comfort and sound. Light yet sturdy!

These bitches, no contest. Also only $25 versus all the overpriced $150+ profitcans.

u/MrDrumline · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I'd look into getting plain over-ear headphones -- something like these are nice for the price -- and putting this on it as a microphone. Works wonderfully and saves quite a bit of money over the horrifically overpriced gaming headsets. Total cost is about $30, but you can certainly find some better headphones for cheaper if you spend more than 5 minutes on Amazon like I did. I picked the Sennheisers because the reviews were good and by many people, and it's a good brand.

Edit: If your boyfriend is ever in the market for a really nice pair of headphones, I can't reccomend the Sony MDR-7506 enough. It's pretty much industry standard for musicians, mixers, sound engineers, recording artists, etc. They've been around and improving since the early 90's They're the best $85 one can spend on audio.

u/Rethread · 1 pointr/tinnitus

Sennheiser hd-201 Squashes the high notes and keeps everything at a nice level for me. I think I just got lucky when I bought them, or cheap. They've been a lifesaver for me, though.

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD201-Lightweight-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B0007XJSQC

Side-by-side comparison showed virtually no difference in audio quality, only difference is that these are made out of plastic and use a slightly cheaper foam for the earcups. Oh, and the ~$20 price tag, can't forget that.

u/Andsc2 · 1 pointr/headphones

It's probably not worth it just for the 7.1. Tho i have heard the 780 is more comfortable. A pair of headphones and a clipon mic would give 3x sound quality tho. Go for it if you want, just seems stupid imo.

You could also look after used headphones. I found a pair of [Sennheiser 518] (http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-518-Headphones-Black/dp/B0042A68R8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372478808&sr=8-1&keywords=518) for about 50$~

Finding a used pair of 555 or 558and doing the [foam mod] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvQ8PzBrHXE) is by FAAAR the best value ~~

u/meanmu · 1 pointr/gaymers

Have you considered buying a pair of regular headphones and a cheap mic separately? You'll propably get a better more balanced sound from the headphones and I honestly doupt that any $50 headset is going to have a fantastic mic. Sennheiser HD-201's are a decent pair for their price. And I'm quite sure something like this will work as a mic just fine.

u/fco2013 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yes it would be, I just asked because it would sense to invest in what you would use more, no sense pouring money into something you won't use all that much. And not necessarily, but some of the prices of my "go-to" gear has increased a little bit, which did make this just a little bit harder.

Okay so, this is what I came up with. Speakers are usually $40 but they are $50 right now for some reason, so that is why it's about $8 dollars over. also if you had any of these cables lying around it would definitely put you under $100.

Speakers - Dayton Audio B652 Amazon | Easily the best ~$50 book shelf speakers out there. Loud, with great sound quality, good imaging, and just all around outstanding for the price. They are kind of big though, so take into account desk space.

Amplifier - Lepai 2020A+ Amazon| You will need these to power the speakers, connected with speaker wire. It's a great little amp. It's buit out of metal, which is great given it's price tag, and the knobs feel great. Has tone controls that has a button that lets you toggle between using them or bypassing them. Provides ample power for speakers in this listening situation. It isn't really made for "party level" volume so just be careful, as you CAN blow speakers if you crank it too high on the AMP/computer. I personally use this and works great. Price is also a little higher than what I've seen them go for ($15).

Cables/Wires Amazon, cable Amazon, wire- A standard 3.5mm male to male cable that will connect the amp to the computer, and 50FT of 16 gauge speaker wire to connect the speakers to the amp. If you have a 3.5mm cable already you won't need to buy another.

Headphones - Sennheiser HD201 Amazon | Sennheiser makes great headphones, from their $1000 HD800 right down to the $20 HD201. Great headphones for music, and okay for gaming. They are closed back, which means the sound stage will not be as broad, but they will isolate outside noise. $10 dollars more will get you these Superlux HD681s which are open backed, which will result in a bigger sound stage, which is helpful for the directional aspect of audio while gaming. they sound pretty good too! Both headphones will perform well for music, and gaming when you use them. Not the best but they're better than most "gaming headsets".

Mic - Zalman Clip on Mic Amazon | A basic mic that clips on to your headphone's cable. what's great about this is you can use them for any pair of headphones, or when you're not even using them! the clip can also hold it to your shirt.

Total cost is about $108. If you are diligent/patient the speakers may drop back down to $40 sometime.

Overall this is great value for a little over $100, and will offer you much more all around than an $100 speaker set. The great thing about this is that everything is modular. If you want to upgrade your speakers you don't have to buy a new amp, and vice-versa. If you want to add a sub down the line, you don't have to ditch everything and get a new set; you just add it into the "chain". Headphones broke? No need to buy a new mic. Want nicer sounding headphones? No problem! Mic broken or lost? Don't need to buy a whole new headset. As you can see it is very flexible, and very easy to upgrade things as you go, which I feel is completely worth the $8 over your budget you gave me.

Sorry this took a while to get to you, lots of writing, linking, and searching! Hope this helps!

I had originally bought the Sennheiser HD201's and didn't enjoy them very much. The Superlux I had sounded much better. But that is one of their cheapest, if not cheapest, headphones they make. I do love Sennheiser though.

u/wtfbbqzlol · 0 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

do you really need a headset?
i have this set up for 5 or 6 years now.
A good headphone (srsly good headphone for under 30€ http://www.amazon.de/Sennheiser-500155-HD-201-Kopfh%C3%B6rer/dp/B0007XJSQC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382601854&sr=8-1&keywords=sennheiser+hd+201
and a table mic. http://www.amazon.de/Kinobo-USB-Mikrofon-Desktop-Computer/dp/B0052SBAEU/ref=pd_sim_computers_9

way better then any headset for that price and people will thank you for a digital mic and not that analog crap

u/CynthiaCrescent · 0 pointsr/buildapc

This headphones and this mic is what I have. < $100 and does just about all I need it to do (I do make videos). As for clip on mic like someone else would suggest, this is what I used to have and it works perfectly fine, although not as responsive. I also came across this bundle but I've not personally tried their headphones.

u/gordonv · 0 pointsr/Beatmatch

Something like this with a $400 laptop. (Yes, you can use your current laptop or computer)

This package includes the hardware and software needed. You do need to buy and download music. I recommend Amazon MP3 or ITunes. You can also import CDs, but that's passé.

I recommend entry level earphones also. This is for your own sanity.

What type of headphones are you looking for? In-ear? On-ear? Over-ear? Wireless? Active noise cancelling? If I were you I would check out some budget options that are not on Ali.

I personally have the following:

  • Apple Earpods - decent sound quality, bad isolation, perfect fit for my ears. At sub $10 they are a good buy. Watch out for fakes on Ali.
  • Sennheiser CX-150 (discontinued, but check out the CX-200) - in-ear, probably not as good as the Earpods, but that may have something to do with the fact that they survived the washing machine.
  • Sennheiser HD201 - best sounding over-ear headphones under $30 easily. The cable is too long for on the road.
  • Sennheiser HD451 - over-ear, more expensive and not as good as the HD201, more base though. Not available in the US.
  • AmazonBasics on-ear headphones - for the price they are decent, maybe even good. They are not nearly as comfortable my over ear headphones, but not bad either.
  • Xiaomi Piston 3 - haven't tested them yet, but good reviews. Worth checking out.

Also, check out /r/budgetaudiophile and /r/headphones though be wary of snobism in the latter.

Budget - Definetely below 100€ (Germany). Heavily depends on your recomendations. I'd say between 35€ and 85€. Where is the sweet spot for Price/performance?

Source - PC with either USB or 3,5mm Headphone jack.

Requirements for Isolation - I'd pretty much only use them at home when I'm alone. Closed back would be sufficient isolation.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full Sized over ear headphones. Comfort is my number 1 priority.

Preferred tonal balance - Actually I have no Idea. I'd use them for gaming mostly, so the sound should be clear I guess. On my Sharp HE XLHF200P I use high bass and mid to low treble.

Past headphones - Sennheiser HD 201. They are relatively comfortable and have decent enough sound quality for the 15€ I paid back then.

Preferred Music - Gaming, rarely watching videos/listening to chart music

The problem is, I don't have very much experience with headphones in general. Since I'd use them for gaming, I might also need a mic (if it is not already included). "Gaming Headsets" are generally overpriced and low quality from what I've heard.
Any help would be appreciated. :)

Maybe something like this.

For $21 these are really good quality and much harder for your sister to get away with borrowing.
