I bought the Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuum NV352 about 6 months ago and it's been working really well. I have a cat with long hair in my small apartment and this picks up all the hair without clogging or losing suction. I think it specifically mentions preventing allergies on its filter although that's not something I really care about. I bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond with one of those 20% off coupons so I only ended up paying something like $140 which was significantly cheaper than most of the other vacuums I looked at. It has good reviews on amazon too.

I have the Shark Navigator Lift Away and couldn't be happier. I use it on all my floors, from tile to shag carpet and low pile carpet, even in my car. I have 2 long haired cats who shed heavily and their kitty litter is, unfortunately, in a carpeted room. It picks up everything. When using on bare floor or low pile ou just run it once without the beater bar, then turn on the beater bar for the carpet to pick any hair it misses.

It doesn't have any belts to replace and the main filter is washable. It's not terribly noisy either and has a few different variations to assembly so you can use it in tight spaces, on stairs, etc.

My sister was borrowing her MIL's Dyson but decided to buy a Shark for herself because I raved about it so much. She said it picked things up the Dyson didn't. She has 2 cats, a lab and a husky.

My mother has a cocker spaniel and a rott/lab/shepherd mix and she bought one too.

We've all been really happy with it (over a year now). Did I mention it swivels?

We were gifted a Shark vacuum (this one) 2 years ago. It's great. It works just as well as when we got it. Lightweight, easy to clean, and gets the hair of two adult curlies and two dogs (one is a husky. we vacuum enough hair to make another husky on a weekly basis).

Just get a Shark. They're cheaper and every bit as good.

I'm in the market for a new vacuum and am leaning towards buying a cheaper one, but I really feel like I'm going to regret it. I'm just in an apartment now so it's not a big deal, but will hopefully be buying a house in a few years.

Any vacuum advice you'd be willing to give? I don't have much experience in it since I'm currently using the old vacuum from my parents house that is probably 15 years old.

So I haven't heard of Miele or riccar, but we had to get a new vacuum last year and ended up with this one from Shark. We've been really happy with it and omg the amount of dirt we picked up the first time we used it made me appaled and what a piss poor job our old vacuum was doing. I also have steam cleaner recs if you happen to be looking for one of those too...last year was a bad year for our household goods lol.

I have this shark vacuum and I absolutely love it. It's light weight so it's easy to use on stairs, and is great at picking up pet hair! I have 2 cats and a dog myself.

you should add this to your wishlist, just cause I think it's funny

The household chore I hate the most is doing laundry. I just can't stand it. IT NEVER ENDS!

I wish i could recommend the vacuum we own but it's sadly way too pricey. If you're interested in the type it's a miele canister vacuum, I highly recommend it because they work so well but it's quite pricey. I think the lowest price is $299.

For ones that aren't that high priced you might try out this handheld vacuum to quickly suck out any pet hair that may be on furniture.

If you're looking for a larger vacuum that is upright and a lift-away this one might be useful to you. It's lightweight and comes with pet tools.

If upright vacuums aren't you're thing you might like this canister vacuum. It's compact and appears to have an easy empty dirt tank so you might not need to buy vacuum bags which will save you some money.

You should add this adorable little HP pillow to your wishlist :D
