I had a very unique style of notes, but here's what worked best for me:

  • Sharpie Pens
  • 5 Folders, one for each class
  • Cornell note paper

So in my junior year I realized that I hated carrying around hundreds of pages of blank paper all the time and so I only printed up about ten pages of note paper at a time. I found a template for Cornell style notes and just printed out my own note paper each week. The multicolored pens worked great for me because I could look back and my notes would all be organized. For example, raw notes were in black, equations in blue, examples in green, questions in red, and anything related to an exam was in every color. Then, I just followed the Cornell note-taking style for note review and it worked out great for me. I had well-organized notes (that people often asked for) and never had to lug around pounds of blank paper that I wasn't going to use.

tl;dr- colored pens for unique note items and self-printed Cornell notes

You can find more links to an example of how I took notes, as well as a link to a printable PDF for Cornell note paper here

I love drawing. These Sharpie Pens would be fucking AWESOME.

I love drawing with regular pens, but sharpie pens are the best. They possess some magical quality that make ANYTHING you draw look adorable/epic at the same time. If Jesus was an artist, I shit you not that he would have drawn with Sharpie Pens.
