I use this and it works awesome

Edit to add you can also smoke meat, this stuff is meant for either BBQ or buring some in your fireplace so I trust that it doesn't have anything nasty in it that could be harmful or give off tastes. Just pure Peat, really nice smell and stays lit for a while.
