I use a snakebyte for emulated N64, NES, SEGA, and GB games. Haven't had any real problems with it. I'm used to the xbox controller, so it was a little difficult to get used to since I'd say it feels more like a playstation controller.
What? Controllers for phones and tablets? No way. That would be impossible.

NB: I actually ordered both these ebay high quality glass lenses and the durovis open dive kit lenses. I am making a rig for both a friend and I. But the Durovis kit lenses aren't available anymore so had to get the more expensive glass ones.

Thank you for the replies. You can switch the controller into different modes via a button combination. None of them work with the game. The buttons work outside the game though (ie select). Here's the controller for reference:

I had a Snakebyte iDroid, too, but it was DoA: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0090WBXSM/ I figure I just got the bad one. And for some reason it was only $25 when I got it back in August, not $60-$100 like I'm seeing all over Amazon now. Different model?

I have a snakebyte, works great as a generic bluetooth controller. Hopefully it works.

That is not what I was talking about. Mfi is a new standard Apple is using to keep controllers limited. Their controllers are listed from 50-60 all the way to $150.
You cannot use a generic bt controller or ANY at all because Apple is too closed off for that. Unless you Jailbreak to allow for other controllers over BT (Controllers4all I was talking about)
What I was saying is that I don't think GBA4IOS supports Mfi... If it does not, then even buying a legit Mfi branded controller won't work for you.
You will need to be Jailbroken to get controller support if that is the case.
What you would need to do is see if GBA4IOS supports Mfi. Then buy an Mfi branded controller if the emulator has support for Mfi controllers. If it doesn't. Jailbreak the iPad, get retroarch and controllers4all, and sync up any ps3, WiiU pro, PS4, or other supported controller.
