I just purchased a Sennheiser RS120 after Christmas. I'm really struggling to not return it.

Hear me out: the sound on this headset is pretty damn amazing. However, for some reason, it just can't handle lows. I really don't know why - I've equalized it to no end and the headset just can't do it.

It's analog by the way, not digital. The volume control goes higher than it should, by maybe 10%, so on certain sources it results in crackling.

Here's another headset I use (it's not wireless): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NJ2M33I/

I've tested this and the Sennheiser on my new PS3 super slim to no end. The Sony knocks it out of the water.

Why is this a thing? Why is wireless so fucking hard for audio?

It kind of disgusts me; I've tried to find wireless audio solutions so hard in the past 2 years. I used the Logitech H800 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005GTNZUM/) for a year and a half, but the headset is made with ridiculously cheap materials. The micro USB port is a point of failure, and my latest set just had the right ear audio fade, which is apparently a common issue. Oh - by the way I've RMA'd the headset twice. I loved it when it worked, though!

At this point I'm willing to say fuck it. It's so atrociously and stupidly difficult to find a reliable wireless audio headset that making a bridge for analog signal, via a preamp that's wireless or an adapter that connects the signal via Bluetooth, is the way to go.

This shouldn't be a thing. Wireless technology has far surpassed the need for independent and proprietary audio devices that utilize wireless connections.

I hope Sennheiser creates something that knocks the rest of the industry out of the water, because one thing is for sure - the industry is not fucking trying.

The headphones are the PlayStation gold headset you can find them for around $60 I think, BUT WAIT! The PSVR has 3d audio built in that works with ANY 3.5mm headphones so even if you don't have 7.1 surround headphones, you'll still hear the 3d Audio! In fact, the 7.1 surround sound on the Sony headphones is not used AT ALL. The Gold headset is good and nice for multiplayer and such, but kind of clunky and uncomfortable for using with the VR headset. What I recommend are these instead which are cheaper, more comfortable and lighter than the Gold headset.

I'm not really sure to be honest, man. These $12 Sony on-ear headphones are advertised to have 12-22000 hz frequency response. Maybe it has something to do with the size of the driver to push that low of frequencies? Wouldn't call myself an expert on this stuff, I just have experiences with quality headphones since my pops works in radio. These headstrap headphones might be capable of pushing out those low frequencies, but they're just not balanced that way. Besides those ultra low frequencies, these headphones sound pretty good in my opinion.

Hi, I'd like some opinions for choosing between 2 options of headphones. I'm looking to upgrade from my old Sony MDRZX110 since these have worn down within the past year.

Sennheiser HD 429 S

Sennheiser HD 598 C

I have zero experience for high quality headphones, so anything better than my old Sony's will do. Mainly considering price, comfort (can be worn for 6 hours continuously), and durability.

The HD598 are more than double the price, and based on the ratings it seems to be better. Should I invest in the more expensive headphones and expect higher quality sounds, comfort and durability? Or should I stick with the cheaper HD429?

Thanks!

I've used those same headphones for about 5 years now; they're only like $10-20 on Amazon.
