Yes, there are portable battery-powered bluetooth receivers with a 3.5mm audio jack. I just bought this one from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C1CGZT0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Haven't used it yet. I'll report back in a few days.

> the headphone jack started getting finicky and would think headphones weren't plugged in when they were if they got bumped just a little bit. This stops the music and is very annoying. I listen on my phone a lot so it was a serious situation for me

You could've invested ~30$ in a Bluetooth headset (like such: www.amazon.com/dp/B00C1CGZT0). No more breaking headphone jacks.

That wasn't the same thing AdioSiks had linked to. These aren't as cheap: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C1CGZT0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_inVRybEQY12A0

I can recommend Sony SBH20. Inexpensive but very nice, and you can use whichever headphones you like, if you're not satisfied with the included ones.

So, I don't have an iPhone but I do have a Samsung Galaxy S5 which is a bit bigger of a phone than my previous one.

I started to get scared that I would end up breaking my phone by leaving it my pocket especially doing any dumbbell work (where I had to rest the dumbbells on my thighs) or olympic lifts.

So I purchased this device off of Amazon.

Now I just keep my phone in my little gym string bag I bring with me and I don't worry about breaking it in my pocket, getting sweat on it, or holding onto it.

I like to listen to music off my phone, so I clip this bluetooth receiver onto my pants waistband and run the headphone cord up my shirt. Love it. http://www.amazon.com/Sony-1270-7822-Bluetooth-Headset-SBH20B/dp/B00C1CGZT0/
I leave the phone on the ground with my towel and water bottle.

Get something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C1CGZT0/

And you can use whatever headphones you want. But, the lag is a problem, so I just use wired headphones.

I use these headphones:

There are a bunch of these. Sony makes a nice one.

I assume that you want a surround sound headset for the soundstage, immersion, and positioning. However, a good set of open headphones will be better than any gaming headset in this regard. The "surround sound" that gaming headsets boast is almost always just for marketing purposes.

I would recommend the Audio Technica AD1000X or the Philips Fidelio X2. They are around the same price as the Steelseries Siberia 800. The AD1000X have less bass than the Fidelios, but it has better highs. Both of them have an amazing soundstage, but the AD1000X will have a more accurate imaging/positional audio.

Also if you really wanted the wireless capability you could get a Bluetooth reciever like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SBH20-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00C1CGZT0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464394129&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+sbh+20

and connect it to your headphones with something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/RuiLing-3-5mm-Adapter-Connectors-Plastic/dp/B00V2SGTMW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1464394111&sr=8-4&keywords=3.5+mm+male+to+male

However this will only work with the Fidelio X2s because they have a removable cable.

Sony SBH20 are what I use. Have had ones that sound better. But they are comfortable enough and sound good enough for gym / walking home from work.

Any Bluetooth headset should work according to what I read. I ordered this to use for PSTV and for my commute:

Decent headphones, mic is in the little receiver. I can use other headphones if these break or I want overears.

I use a Sony SBH20 bluetooth adapter with a mono ear bud. I've been using this setup for a few years now and it's perfect for audio books.

I suggest this bluetooth headset by sony. It's basically a bluetooth audio receiver that you can plug your headphones into. It comes with headphones with short wires, so they don't tangle. You could probably also use any headphones and shorten their wires by wrapping and taping them up.

I have this one. Same price, but NFC included and no proprietary charger. Works well with Moto 360

Not 100% sure if I understand correctly what it is you want, but there is something from Sony that I think matches: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-1270-7822-Bluetooth-Headset-SBH20B/dp/B00C1CGZT0/

u/Balerinom · 1 pointr/AndroidQuestions

Don't believe so but there are halfway solutions like small puck devices which connect via Bluetooth and themselves have a 3.5mm for your headphones of choice. Had to use one of them on my Z3 when it had a fail of the same type.

EDIT - This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/Sony-SBH20-Bluetooth-Stereo-Headset/dp/B00C1CGZT0

Didn't fail me, would recommend as it still lives with the girlfriend and is used daily.

u/Kay1000RR · 1 pointr/SonyXperia

I ended up getting one of these. The buttons work fine and I don't need to have a cable connected to my phone.

u/rrickitickitavi · 1 pointr/AppleWatch

This dongle is great. Toss the included earbuds and use whatever you like.

Unfortunaltey something like that really doesn't exist. You could get an android phone with something like http://www.amazon.com/Sony-1270-7822-Bluetooth-Headset-SBH20B/dp/B00C1CGZT0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1408161402&sr=8-2&keywords=sony+bluetooth+adapter which will let you use any pair of headphones you want wirelessly and has a controller built in

u/beall49 · -11 pointsr/Android

I have an iPhone 7 from work and it's not a big deal. Bought some BT headphones and it's fine. It's time to move on folks.

You can also buy one of these. Worked really well with my MTX50s.
