Most of them are digital. So, using various computer programs, people are able to generate images via photo manipulation, textures, filters, layers, etc.

The ones I post are usually traditional media, and will have the type written in parentheses. It is perhaps easiest to get started using acrylic paints. You can start with basic landscapes, but change the colors to create alien worlds. That will give you a solid foundation.

Here are a couple of great sources for you to try. The first is a book, and if you check my post history, you'll find a couple of paintings that I did from that book. The others are subreddits dedicated specifically to learning art, and photographs that make excellent source material.

This book is an excellent place to start if your interest is in space art. You might want to spend a little time on r/happytrees to get a basic understanding of landscapes in Bob Ross's style.

You can try drawing. That's usually the simplest way to start. If you're not feeling it, then branch out to other things. I used to spend a lot of time on YouTube watching painting tutorials, and you can by some step-by-step painting books. This is my favorite one.

You can also do some fun things with plain old construction paper and a glue stick. :-)
