I got mine a year ago, and had the same problem, also about 2-3 months after getting it. The bump and pain went away after about a week of using it. I usually rub it on the area, leave it on for 30 seconds, and wash it off. I do the same with my nose screw. Now, I have no bump, discolouration whatsoever.
