I like that it's pretty low profile when not in use. Also doesn't block the view of any part of the road. The thing I like best is that it's super easy to put the phone in with one hand, no fiddling around with both hands or having to readjust the angle every time, just pop it in and go.

It only works in landscape mode (which is fine for maps). Also the sticky tape that came with it was useless. I stuck it to the dash with heavy duty velcro tape.

If you're looking for something very minimalist, my husband and I are both very happy with these. For fast charging I just use an Anker fast charger and fast charging cable. The charger is out of sight in the center console. With the battery life of the Note 9 tho, I rarely need it.

It's like a giant rubber clip that sticks to the top of the dash.

I like my phone being mounted in landscape orientation and as close as possible to the line of sight… so I'm using this mount right behind the steering wheel.

oh! there's also a pleson tempered glass screen protector on amazon for the 5x. it came in last week but i still haven't had a chance to install it. cheap and very highly reviewed.

I currently use a Spigen magnetic mount in my air vent and loved it in my previous car, but the vents in the car I just recently got are not as optimal for the vent mount. Was also thinking of looking into a CD player mount as well. But I heard those aren't as sturdy.

The one above seems like it'd work nicely, but I'm pretty used to the swivel adjustable one I currently use, so I'm hesitant.

I'm not sure if it will work for the space you're wanting it or not but I've used this for over a year now without any issues. Used with both a Pixel XL and a Pixel 3 XL, best mount I've used.
