I agree.. Its a bit bulky and the hinge is not protected.. I already preordered this but it's not comming until early January.. Supper bumbed.. I really don want to scratch or dent the hinge..

I used the stock case, which is really more of a cover. It doesn't offer much in the way of protection. The best case you can currently get is the Ultra Hybrid from Spigen ($30). It's much thicker and more rigid than the stock case. None of the cases currently on the market cover the hinge or caps. Spigen and Monarch will be releasing cases that cover the hinge eventually (their support teams told me they didn't have a definite date for availability, but amazon says Spigen's will be in stock on Dec. 30th).
