I ended up getting one of these.
I wanted a slimmer case that also showed off the design of the phone.

Spigen bumper case, gunmetal grey one I bought but others. I'm a huge fan of the nexus back so the clear really is cool. Just minimal protection tho, I wouldn't get crazy with it.

Unicorn beetle case, very very good protection, very study. Pain to get off tho imo if you like to switch a lot like me but still a great case. Few to choose from.

I'm not one of those people who go caseless. It needs a case at all times.. So I go with clear if possible because I love seeing the nexus lettering.

$12 on Amazon. It's very slim and form fitting. The one problem I have is if you get some water on the screen, it'll sometimes leak into the back and you'll have to take the phone out of the case to wipe them down.
I'm getting this case
Several of us had the same idea to go with a Spigen Ultra Hybrid because it has a clear back so that we can show off that sexy dbrand carbon fiber skin.
I was thinking about this one from Spigen, but I'm not sure if it attracts fingerprints in the back.
