I think it turned out very well considering your lack of tools and experience. It should look good up on the shelf and using what you learned from it, your next one ought to be even better.

Some suggestions for working with the small parts:

When removing them from the sprues, try cutting off a bit of the sprue itself along with the part (make sure to cover it with your hand to prevent it from flying away). You can use a small pair of wire cutters for this, or pick up a pair of sprue cutters which are designed for the purpose and will help out immensely as you continue with future builds. Once the part is away from the main sprue, it's much easier to use your knife to trim away the tiny bit that's left and there's less chance of sending your tiny part off into the carpet.

For handling the parts, tweezers are the obvious choice, I like the self-closing and locking types myself (flea markets are great for finding these and other tools for cheap). You can also use a tiny bit of clay, or even saliva, on the end of a toothpick to hold a part while attaching it.

As for attaching them to the model, I like to use liquid cement (Testors Liquid Cement, Ambroid Pro-Weld, or my fave, Tenax 7R). Use a fine, pointed brush to apply the cement to the join while holding the part in place. This makes it easy to control the tiny amount of solvent required.

Keep up the good work, and I hope to see your next build here soon!
