These. Seriously, they almost never bleed, they mark very crisply, and they don't smudge. I have a set and the notes I've taken with them remain hands-down the most legible of any I've ever taken.

I used those things all my life, never had trouble with it. Might be worth a try, but I don't know if you can get only black. I have like 50 colored ones, so i guess not.
