These are the ones I got, they support up to 250lbs, and they come with sturdy S hooks that work perfectly with the Grand Trunk Hammock: https://amzn.com/B001RKYMJW

  • Oven mitt
  • Good tongs
  • Baby wipes
  • Small broom
  • Mallet
  • Water shoes
  • French press
  • Hammock

I'm always surprised by how often people burn themselves trying to cook something on the campfire because they don't have an oven mitt. Those cheap tongs that are like bent wires are horrible - I have a $15 pair that is pretty nice, has a spring and lock, and makes cooking a million times easier. Baby wipes are obvious, a small broom to sweep the crap out of your tent. Mallet for tent stakes, can't count the number of times I've had to find a rock because I didn't have a mallet. And if you're going to be in the water, water shoes will save your feet from rocks and other painful things.

A French press is surprisingly simple to make coffee with, all you need is hot water and ground coffee. I absolutely loathe those camping percolators, they fucking suck. Your coffee is always full of grounds and you never really know when it's done. I always go get a bag of really nice coffee from Stumptown or wherever, it's the finer things in life.

I picked up a nylon hammock on Amazon that folds up super compact, nothing like a nap in the middle of the day! Don't forget the straps, they fit inside the hammock bag.

I'm still rocking the snugpak jungle hammock until I pull the trigger on a dream hammock. You'll also need to buy straps to hang it.

It's short and heavy, but very affordable. I've upgraded the suspension on mine and added a ridgeline. Use little binder clips to hold the bugnet.

Don't buy ENO, they're badly overpriced.

Dutchware is probably the best bang for the buck but you'll need to pick a bugnet and suspension, which can be confusing at first.

It appears the price has gone up a bit since last summer but they are still pretty cheap, $3.30 plus 4.99 in shipping: Stansport Hammock Tree Straps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001RKYMJW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_1DywxbQK8HDZA
