There are no new novelizations unless you mean the ones that /u/Zapik is talking about and those are aimed at the 8-12 y/o range (middle-grade). Technically the story group says the original novelizations are canon "where they align with the films" which is a roundabout way of saying they aren't fully canon. To me, not fully canon means not canon at all. There is also the 100% canon graphic novel adaptation which is really nice.

Prequel Trilogy and Original Trilogy are the first two trades. The third trilogy is still in progress obviously.

This is awesome! After I saw this pic, I ended up arranging my collection in a similar manner - give us periodic updates as more canon media is released!

Couple of questions:

  1. Isn't the new graphic novel of the original trilogy (http://amzn.to/2a6GDkv) considered canon?
  2. What about the novelization of TFA (http://amzn.to/29TODXO)? I assume the films take priority over any novelization?

5 Centimeters Per Second is an adaptation of Makoto (Your Name) Shinkai's film of same name. It's kind of an amazing adapt since it not only embellishes and expands every bit of story from the film but it also appends a fourth act that serves to give the film more closure.

Back in the '70s and '80s there were always quite a few adaptations of films. I remember adaptations of all the Star Wars films, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. There's actually a pretty neat-looking adaptation of the Star Wars trilogy out right now: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1484737849
