Steelseries arctis is really nice. I picked up the cheaper analog ones a few months ago and they have treated me great. Its nice because you can easily switch between ps4 and pc too.

Need a new gaming headset, under $100.
Thinking of either the Kingston HyperX Cloud Core or the SteelSeries Arctis 3. Love the look of the Arctis but the Kingston is currently 26bucks cheaper.
Any thoughts on which I should pull the trigger on?
The steelseries arctis headsets are really good. I got my arctis 7 for $140 here in Sweden where everything is stupidly overpriced. But it was a pretty good deal since they are $170 in most stores here. You said you were looking for $50-$100 so the arctis 3 and 5 are worth to check out.
The only complaint I have with my 7s is that the volume is super low when I use a wire (it’s wireless)

It's $5 more but this is a pretty nice headset for the price.

But getting a good pair of headphones and putting a modmic on it is a good idea too, that's what I do.
I just got a refurb set of SteelSeries Arctis 3s on Amazon delivered last week. My pair was $50. I'm loving them so far - I had a pair of the PS gold but after about 6 months of duct taping them together I had to give up.
These ones are great - way more comfortable. I'd say the sound quality in the PS gold was better and I honestly can tell the difference without 7.1 sound, but I have 0 regrets so far.

ok so sorry I have decided to add this to the list based on talking to my brother. It's more expensive but I've had only positive experiences with SteelSeries products in the past.
