get this for moving/strafing and use the buttons on the naga.

I think the naga has enough buttons for everything else. Seems like a lot of fun actually now i want one.

Hey OP, I'm not sure about your Dad's situation, but have you ever heard of these?

http://www.amazon.com/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS

They're controllers to be used with your feet. Like I said, I don't know if he'd be able to use this or not, but if he could, it would potentially open a lot of doors for your guys to play just about anything.

Also, some Wii games can be controlled with nothing but the Wiimote. If he likes strategy, I'd recommend Fire Emblem on Wii for one handed delight.

u/BrotherGreed · 14 pointsr/runescape

I'm mainly echoing some things that other people have said but here's my two cents,

Can you use your thumb very well? You could consider investing in an MMO mouse like someone else suggested.

Also, if you have at least some use of your left hand to hit keys, like say, for example, you can hit 1, 2, and 3, but not 4, 5, and 6, you can consider getting one of those gaming foot pedals, and use the pedal as modifier keys so you can do say, like, 1 as a key by itself, left side of the pedal and 1, right side of the pedal and 1, and so on.

Another option which again, depends on your hands, is one of those ergonomic gamepads. You might find it easier to use one of these because of how the keys are spaced and curved inward than a traditional keyboard.

Again, I don't know your exact situation, but those are some recommendations as far as some hardware goes, which take varying degrees of monetary investment (but can be translated to other games, too!)

As far as your initial question involving Voiceattack, I don't know how Jagex's bot detection software works (obviously) but the general rule they put out is one input = 1 output, so if the program only does 1 thing per thing you tell it to do, like for example, if you tell it to use your 1 key, and it only presses that key once, then you should be good to go. However if it's set to hit 1, 2, and 3 in order when you only give it one command, then that's a no-go. But I personally would try to reach out to Jagex and get some sort of feedback from them first. That way if you somehow get banned or something, you're already out ahead of it and would probably have no issues getting your account back. Hypothetically speaking, though I'd think that this hypothetical is pretty out there anyway as long as the program is used within the one input = 1 output rule.

^ Also don't take my word to be gospel on this, I strongly strongly recommend getting official word from a Jagex rep before trying anything with any sort of program like that if you value your account

Good luck, and I wish you the best in your gaming endeavors

it depends on the wrist. I have a friend who doesn't have much motor control with his right hand, and I got him a Razer Orbweaver. He says it took a week or so to get used to it, but he set it up so he can use it as a full keyboard by switching presets and using the rest to type. It's worth noting that the thumb stick isn't analog; you get either 4 or 8 mappings to it (directions 4 way or directions with diagonals.) I got one myself because they're pretty nice for league, but it wouldn't be able to do mouse movement for you.

There's also the option (if you're going to be avoiding your left hand) to use a mouse with plenty of buttons. My ex used the Razer Naga MMO mouse that has a bunch of buttons on it, and I have a friend who has a logitech equivalent of the same thing. Both would work for league, as you would have buttons for skills/items/summoner spells.

Another thing you could possibly do is use something with your feet. I've always been curious about the stinky gaming pad

There's also the thing ben heck did to make a 360 controller into a one handed controller but it's more of a diy thing.

Hope I've been of some help. Good luck to you. Oh and if I could only use one hand for two weeks, I'd get a copy of black and white or black and white 2. Some good strategy games would be good too. Something like CIV5 or AoW3 would work, being turn based, but you could probably get away with some total war (shogun 2 is the best one).

I use Dragon all the time also because I developed repetitive strain injury in both hands a few years ago and was incredibly depressed being unable to play video games. Using Dragon I played some turn based stuff but eventually got my hands on... or should I say "feet" on one of these [stinky footpads] (https://www.amazon.ca/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS) . After another year and a half I got a second one and it's enabled me to play a lot of things.
If you are able to I'd highly recommend getting one as they are extremely durable and very comfortable to use. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask.

Though the downside to this is if you got really good this is technically not an approved control scheme for RLCS... unless they consider this a keyboard(maybe? I mean thats all it is )

What do you mean?
Also this won't solve all your issues but it's a nice addition:

u/Mikey_MiG · 2 pointsr/starcitizen

I'd imagine something like this would work pretty good for translation as well since it has four directions.

u/Pyromaniac34 · 2 pointsr/gaming

So, my suggestion to you, get 2 Stinky Boards that you control with your feet. That's 8 buttons which should mostly make up for the loss of major left hand use.

Then get a mouse with lots of buttons like the Logitech G502, Utech Venus, or the Razer Naga line.

It will definitely take some getting used to, but you probably wouldn't need to give up any of the games you love.

The last recommendation I have to further expand your ability to control games with minimal left hand usage is Voice Attack Which lets you program in (assuming someone hasn't built a profile already) sequences of key presses and other things that respond to your voice. When properly set up, it works amazingly for games like Elite: Dangerous when I'm in VR and can't really see the keyboard to use those controls.

Best of luck to you, and hopefully you regain full functionality soon.

Get a foot controlled device. I've heard this works alright: http://www.amazon.com/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS

Might want to check out the stinky gaming foot board for some things, so you don't have e to reach across your keyboard to defuse, etc. https://www.amazon.com/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS

Nifty. This doesn't exactly look similar to something else, but I've been wanting to get a Stinky Gaming foot pad and just use it for my push to talk key.

You keep mentioning that you can't move your hands, what about hardware that you use with other body parts?

u/lazerusking · 2 pointsr/motorcycles

If you were a PC gamer how about one of these?

You can set it up to basically be your mouse or movement keys. Totally foot controlled.

u/midnitewarrior · 2 pointsr/RocketLeague

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good luck with your recovery.

I've got a Stinky Footboard that I've used for some games. I am not disabled in any way that I'm aware of, but it appears to work well for some things for me.

If I were in a position where I were forced to use it, I'm sure I'd be a lot better with it. There are alternative controllers out there, just look for them, there's probably one out there to help you.

u/Child_of_1984 · 2 pointsr/gamingsuggestions

Bear in mind that there are options like this out there that can help the impared with their gaming. In this case especially, by offloading the WASD / Arrow keys to a foot pedal, it makes a lot of action and FPS games doable. I don't know the specifics about this situation, but I talked with a gamer in the past who lost his left arm, and a pedal like that with a mouse like this made him just as capable as anyone else.

u/specie32 · 2 pointsr/AskPCGamers

Stumbled on this post just browsing. I would suggest a StinkyBoard. It's a foot board that you can map the buttons to and use it as wasd. Probably take some getting used to but seems like the best bet here.

u/Mjone77 · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

One hand huh? Have you thought of this: Link1 Link2

You could hook that up to some keys and use it as your right hand, maybe wasd and try using the mouse in your left. Might work for single player games, multiplayer may take some wrok.

also much cheaper versions of similar device. i keep thinking i need to buy one to try out.... maybe when i get my new desk with more room for things.

If you have some money to spare after building your PC you could try something like this foot controller:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EOPT5ZS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1466684439&sr=8-3&pi=SL75_QL70&keywords=foot+pedal+controller

You could even use two of them, and it could help you a lot with the buttons, although not with the analogs. This thing is used alongside controllers or KB/M.

u/DanknessEvermemes · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

You can get one of these for your feet(Stinky Gaming Footboard Foot Controller (PC DVD) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EOPT5ZS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3IU7AbW308FHB) you can bind your abilities to it and then use your mouse for items and everything else

u/Clawdius_Talonious · 1 pointr/oculus

I think you'd be better off with a Stinky Gaming Footboard

http://www.amazon.com/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS

You could more readily know where you needed to place pressure to activate the various functions bound to the devices without having to look at anything.

u/Sparklebunny · 1 pointr/santashelpers

Here's a gaming peripheral he might not have yet: a footboard. My gamer friend finds it quite useful.

u/thedenominator · 1 pointr/gaming

Hm... I'm not certain they make one for PS4, but I was recently shopping for items to help a disabled gamer as well (uncle had a heart attack recently and can't use left arm or leg, was a big WoW player) and I found a foot pedal setup. Since my uncle has no use of his left side, he needs to be able to play using his right side only. I've got a Razer Naga Epic that I'm going to give him and combined with the foot pedal, that should allow him to play WoW again.

If you can find such a thing that's console-compatible, this would probably be the best option. You could remap the important controls to the face buttons and map crouching or sprinting etc. to the pedals.

EDIT: For reference, this is the product that I purchased for my uncle, the Stinky Foot Board.

u/MillenniumKing · 1 pointr/Warframe

Sadly the Logitech G13 is left handed. i use it since i have nerve damage in my right hand that makes some stuff complicated, ive been using my G13 for 5 or so years and its amazing.

That said the Logitech g600 would work nicely, its 12 thumb buttons that are very easy to hit and contored nicely. it also has 3 mouse buttons, a left mouse button, right mouse button,a nd ring finger mouse button (which normally changes between 2 button hotkey profiles but i rebound mine to just be another key to use, then it has the middle scroll wheel which has a left click a right click and a push down middle click, THEN there are 2 more buttons on top.

All in all the g600 has 20 programmable buttons. with 2 quick switch profiles for 40 keys on the fly.

Its your best bet. ive had nerve damage in my left hand for 15 years from a pumpkin carving accident with a steak knife, so my left hand fingers are not very agile so the g13 was good to minimize the movement you would normally need to game on keyboard, but then 4 years ago i severed a nerve in my right arm and lost control of a lot of my arms mvoement accuracy and the use of my pinky, ring finger, so ive had to rely on the 2 of those more to supplement my lack of ability. I fully think a g600 mouse will be enough for just the right arm, i often get fatigued in my left arm due to nerve damage so i primarlly have to use the mouse and the buttons are wonderous.

if you get a foot pedal too you can do more. ive been planning to buy one for myself since my hands are not doing as well anymore so that i can have some feet buttons to press. ive been researching and i know "Stinky Feet" has one that ive heard is decent and gives more buttons than most other pedals. so between that and the mouse i think youde be perfect, just have WASD on the feet and jump maybe, then mouse to control aim and abilities.
Picture of Button Layout
i would set up the mouse as follows.

[LMB] [RMB] [OMB] - Fire Weapon, Aim, Spacebar / Jump
[Middle Left] [Middle Mouse] [Middle Right] - E / Melee, Alt Fire, FREE
[Back Middle 1] [Back Middle 2] - C / Push to talk, Esc / Menu

[ ] [ ] [ ] - Shift, Ctrl, C / Push To Talk
[ ] [ ] [ ] - Ability 1, Ability 2, Ability 3
[ ] [ ] [ ] - Ability 4, X / Use, F / Swap
[ ] [ ] [ ] - Q / Items, R / Reload, G / Mark

Then use that 4 button foot pad for WASD and you are set. I hope that helps give you ideas. Trust me i can relate well with your friend and i just hope i can be of some help. Im constantly looking over my shoulder for the day i completely lose control of one of my arms, it will happens some day so i like to be prepared in case it does.

I use that, not sure if its what you're looking for. I use it in landscape orientation and have it for roll left/right, strafe forward/back (strafe up/down left/right are on throttle thumbstick).

Its supposed to be usable with one foot, in portrait orientation, and you're supposed to be able to rest full weight of your foot directly on the center and just rock it. One of these day's I'll try it this way, but for now I just use it as low profile pedals.

u/shawtobot · 1 pointr/wow

Interesting read, as I work with a keyboard and I spend a lot of free time on this game, I'm always looking for ways to reduce strain on my fingers and wrists. The stinky footboard looks really interesting, anyone have any experience? (http://www.amazon.com/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS/ref=pd_cp_e_0)

Also, I only read the first 6 pages or so - was there any blue reply to the thread?

u/Cory123125 · 1 pointr/pcgaming

Mouse buttons seem confusing.

If I were you, and I wanted to do that, for whatever reason, I think the stinky foot board or 2 of them for evxtra buttons. The name is dumb, but it does what you want and probably wont confuse you by having 2 seperate control areas governed by 1 hand

u/TheRtRevKaiser · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

Something like this foot controller would work great for WASD, and you could bind everything else to mouse buttons on something like Naga or Logitech G600. Those MMO mice have a million buttons

u/Two-Tone- · 1 pointr/disabledgamers

Mostly right side (use to be everything, but I was able to regain some minimal control) here! Can I ask if you've always been hemiplegic or is this recent?

Game wise, can I suggest Gunpoint? You'd need to swap between keyboard (movement) and mouse (everything else), but you won't be pressed to quickly switch between them.

Oh, and have you heard of the Stinky Board? It's basically WASD for your foot.

u/eckart · 1 pointr/CompetitiveForHonor

actually not joking. Although I dont use one, I am convinced foot pedals are a tool the competitive gaming community should not be overlooking. Can use cheaper racing pedals too of course.

u/Yadovid · 1 pointr/Guildwars2

This is not answer for your question, but I think I've seen some foot pads being produced that would allow you to control your character movement with your feet. I think about making something like this for myself for over a year now, but I'm too lazy :)

edit: found it

Obviously you'll need to make a custom UI. They are not hard to make, but it does take a bit trial and error to get a proper set up. With one eye you'll need favor that side of the screen, but still have plenty of space to see what is going on around you.

Some recommended UI addons I would recommend is weakauras and TellMeWhen for spell CDs and buff/debuff tracking. Icyhud is one I recommend if you want minimalist HUD, but it requires a lot of setup and trial and error. But ShadowedUnitFrames work right out of the box. Also, I recommend MoveAnything to move blizzard stuff around to fit your needs.

On combat, it would be helpful if you can describe what kind of use can still get from it or comfortably do with your bad hand.

But what I can suggest is getting some pedals so you can use your feet. Like this foot board. https://www.amazon.com/Stinky-Gaming-Footboard-Foot-Controller/dp/B00EOPT5ZS

I don't have one since I feel like I don't need one, and the price doesn't seem to justify buying one for me, but I can see a real benefit for you. You can use it to strafe left and right, activate push-to-talk, tab targeting, or modifiers like SHIFT to get more use out of your MMO mouse.

Speaking of your mouse. I recommend you use it for your rotational abilities, and click for you lease used abilities or cool downs or work in a shift modifier somewhere to bind everything.

u/AnimusVulnus · 1 pointr/DestinyTheGame

Did it work well for you?

An interesting PC peripheral is a foot pedal called the Stinky Footboard. Though it's a bit more expensive than the CronusMax is, as well.

A number of people expressed a willingness to donate to helping your gaming experience in some of the other comments as a hat tip [or rather wave/salute/bow] to your dedication as a gamer. A kickstarter might be overkill for it but you might work directly with a few people towards the end of improving your gaming experience. A few bucks through paypal or something here and there might afford you some options towards that end. shrug

u/Wolfie_Ecstasy · 1 pointr/survivetheculling

I suggest he gets a footboard like this for his movement as well as a mouse like this for every other action you would do on a keyboard.

People who break their hand or only have one hand usually run this setup. Personally that's what I would do, I don't think I can go x amount of months without video games if I'm being honest.
