Jesus that TWS Dacom...

The video doesn't exactly encompass a lot of the true wireless stuff on the market but I think it does get it's point across that the Airpods aren't that bad as an overall package for the features although you could definitely do better and cheaper if sound quality was your only concern.

I would have liked to see him include a few more semi wireless IEMs like the Anker Soundbud IE20 or Taotronics stuff, more true budget wireless earbuds like the QCY 29(rebranded here) or Syllable D900 mini.

I think bluetooth earphones will see a large swing by the consumer market in the next few years and I look forward to trying a few of the true wireless products out this year. Whilst it won't be replacing my daily drivers, I've already made the switch at the gym to sport bluetooth IEMs like Jaybirds and find them indispensable.

u/Bob49459 · 6 pointsr/funny

I think any that are that small are a bad idea. There are those bands you wear around your neck that are neat, and there are other Bluetooth ear buds that are still connected to each other that I think would be harder to lose. But those smaller than an inch individual ear buds are going to be way more likely to fall out and be gone forever.

Edit: Samsung has some already

u/mithikx · 5 pointsr/gadgets

I ordered these: https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Bluetooth-Headphones-Wireless-Earphones/dp/B01GNYFT8E to replace the rather shit pair I bought a while back that somehow still work (they still shit though). The verified purchases are positive so they can't be that bad as far as bluetooth earbuds go.

There seems to be an updated version: https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Bluetooth-Headphones-Earphones-Sweatproof/dp/B01LYMSLFL/ but I just went with the older one with more reviews to be safe.

They're $30 or so with Prime shipping so I figured it was worth the risk.

u/faceperson0588 · 3 pointsr/iphone

Check out the taotronics sports headphones:
[(https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GNYFT8E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479591060&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=taotronics+bluetooth+headphones&dpPl=1&dpID=31EklAXKTxL&ref=plSrch)]

I was extremely impressed with the sound quality for the price. They sound basically identical to my wired Klipsch S4's.

u/swiggity-swaggity · 3 pointsr/xxfitness

Yes! I have the ones that have a little rubber piece that sits inside your ear. Quick Edit: Found them here but looks like they aren't available right now:(

I can be on the other side of my gym (from my phone) in these with little to no connection issues.

u/teaearlgreyhot · 3 pointsr/xxfitness

I also have these and they are my favorite for working out and being at work. Mine will last all day and I really love how good the connection is and that they auto reconnect if you quickly leave and re-enter the Bluetooth range. You never realize how convenient this is until it happens! Plus, the inserts don't hurt my ears over long periods of time AND they're magnetic so they don't fall off your neck.

These, specifically, are the ones I have and love!

u/hunneybunny · 3 pointsr/Aerials

I have these and I honestly love them, plus they're very reasonably priced. Sound quality is pretty good, as is battery life, and they don't fall out easily.

I actually got comply foam tips to use with mine and they make everything better I promise.

u/ItsDeke · 3 pointsr/videos

They make earbuds now without the collar, just the wire connecting the two. I run/workout with Bluetooth buds and never have had an issue with tugging or getting disconnected (granted, where I live face warmers aren't a thing, but I still don't think they'd be a problem). Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GNYFT8E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_x5JhybC9W7NJW

Granted, having corded is more simple for every day activities. The only advantage to Bluetooth in my mind is not having the earbuds violent ripped from your ears by the standard cord snagging on something.

u/DeusZane · 3 pointsr/Metalcore

TaoTronics Bluetooth Headphones. I use these when I work out, they're fantastic. They sit really comfortably in my ears and get super loud. Plus they're magnetic, so they stay wrapped around your neck when you're not using them. If you're looking for something cheap, these have served me well for months.

u/TheKugr · 2 pointsr/iphone

Lol, no the point is there isn't any wire at all. Wireless headphones with a wire attaching the two earbuds have long been around and different versions are much cheaper than Airpods. Why buy an Airpod if you're going to attach a wire making them exactly like these $30 earbuds which will undoubtedly stay in your ear better anyway https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GNYFT8E/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480049333&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=wireless+earbuds&dpPl=1&dpID=31EklAXKTxL&ref=plSrch You can get other wireless earbuds which are either much cheaper and of similar quality or similar cost but better quality. The only distinguishing feature of the airpods from these other wireless earbuds is the lack of any wire at all.

u/FancyJesse · 2 pointsr/headphones

Note sure if this will be buried and not replied to but worth a shot.

Today my earphones that came with my S7 died on the right side. So that's pretty disappointing. So now I'm in the market for some new earphones and I'm thinking of getting bluetooth ones.. and I don't know where to start

---

Budget - $60 USD or something definitely worth the money

Source - Samsung S7

Requirements for Isolation - No preference, mainly used in public transport or office setting

Will you be using these Headphones in Public? Yes

Preferred Type of Headphone - earbuds then IEMs

Preferred tonal balance - No preference / Balanced

Past headphones - OEM phone earbuds with mic

Preferred Music - Rock, Metal, some classical

Other - I would like something with decent battery life. I have only looked at these two so far.

u/pvera · 2 pointsr/running

My $30 Bluetooth earbuds have little rubber wings that tuck inside of the earlobe, they stay in place 85-90% of the time, and there's no irritation like when I use the style that hooks over the earlobe.

u/a_small_goat · 2 pointsr/Android

My earbuds are an unbranded $20 set I got off Amazon about a year ago (very similar to these Tayotronics - I have a feeling it's the previous gen of them). I get 6-8 hours on a charge. Before the earbuds, I was using a Plantronics Voyager (the Legend, I think). I use the earbuds pretty much daily at the gym, while running, hiking, etc. They work great, and if they ever die on me, I'm not out much money. I have not noticed a drop-off in battery life, yet. The sound quality is close enough to my coworker's Jaybirds that I doubt I'll ever be able to justify a pricetag like that. Especially when I am just running around streaming from Google Play 99% of the time.

u/swordknight · 2 pointsr/headphones

The m6 is a good beater pair for the gym. If you want wireless, I dont know much about the models you linked but I do personally own this one and can recommend it for gym use.

u/evanfeelickz · 2 pointsr/oneplus

My TaoTronics show the bluetooth battery status, on OnePlus 5T 7.1.1.

u/homesweetocean · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

No headphone is BiFL, especially workout headphones that will get wet/bumped. That being said...

Just picked up these JayBirdx3 knockoffs - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GNYFT8E/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_22?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2KUZVNQ9LP7N9

So far, they are the best bluetooth headphones I have owned. Sound is amazing, they are very secure while running/working out, there is a magnet on the end of each one so they clip together when not in your ears, and they claim to be waterproof and from what I have seen I am not doubting that. They are also noise cancelling, which is a great feature in an already solid product.

Had them for just over a month, 23 workouts/30 runs and still working perfectly. If they last 6 months, at $40 that is a great value in my opinion.

u/motodoto · 2 pointsr/audiophile

I'm the thrifty kinda guy.

Refurbished Denon receiver, 2 Micca bookshelves, a Micca center channel, and a Bic America subwoofer. About 700 bucks total. Sounds good enough for me. I know much better is out there but it's hard to justify the costs.

My Sennheiser HD598SE's are great ($150), and I have a FiiO E10K ($75) that they plug into at work, and at home I just plug them in directly since the onboard soundcard isn't too bad surprisingly on my motherboard. I have a Sony SRS-X5 bluetooth speaker plugged into the back of it as well. I have those cheap-ass sony ANC headphones (20 bucks at the time I bought them) and they get the job done at a cheap price for planes and for the AC unit blasting in my office (I know... killing me, 80db of white noise all day long).

I have a friend from work that spent 50,000 bucks on his setup. It sounds great, and it's worth it, but I couldn't spend that much on it.

I'm more of a headphone kinda guy. My next upgrade would probably be going all out on headphones. A pair of Sennheiser HD800's probably. That's in the far future, I got stuff I want to do around the house first.

These are my workout earbuds

They are a great value.

And they're fantastic.
Really changed my opinion on BT Headphones as a whole.

u/thomthomthomthom · 2 pointsr/juggling

These are what I use. I was skeptical of bluetooth headphones at first, but these were a total game changer for me.

u/newstart · 2 pointsr/AppleWatch

If you are looking for brand name and quality you can go for Bose or the new Beats Powerbeats3 that have the same W1 chip as forthcoming Airpods. The W1 chip makes it easier to pair Headphones with Watch, iPhone and Mac. All of these cost $199+ or you can pick Powerbeats2 (without W1) or Jaybird (another good brand owned by Logitech) for about $150.

I personally got a $40 Bluetooth headphone from amazon that works very well and am happy with quality. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GNYFT8E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_B3huybHHFCC9H

Not associated with any company but just wanted to show that you don't need to wait for Airpods. Just google Bluetooth headphones and you can do a quick 10 min research on your own.

u/240strong · 2 pointsr/Harley

I can't speak for if these stick out too far for your helmet or not, but I have no problem of them staying in my ears and they only cost 36 bucks. The sound quality isn't Bose sound by any means, but for the price I was very impressed.

Hey there!
I think that in that price range the combination of small and cordless is rather hard to find. However, I do happen to know two in that price range with good ratings. The first: Plantronics BackBeat go 2.
What I like about them is the price, and the fact that they have above average rating. In Europe the will cost you 60 Euros but in the USA (I checked the wallmart site) they only cost $34 (how unfair! :P)
I also checked Amazon and found a certified refurbished pair for only $19,99! There is also a version of the product with an included charging case, but in the case of wall-mart the price doubles, so that's a choice. The charging pack is actually a sachet with a build in powerbank... so you can get that cheaper.

Second: TaoTronics Bluetooth Wireless 4.1 Magnetic Earbuds
I have heard great things about these! They get an excellent rating, and they cost almost the same as the plantronics. On amazon they go for 37,99, they look in my opinion pretty good, and they look smaller in comparison to the plantronics.

https://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Bluetooth-Headphones-Wireless-Earphones/dp/B01GNYFT8E/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1484083139&sr=1-2&keywords=TaoTronics+Bluetooth+Wireless+4.1+Magnetic+Earbuds

I owned a pair of jaybird x2's but they broke and I got a refund, but now after doing some research for you I am genuinely thinking about getting a pair of TaoTronics!

I hope all of this helps!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GNYFT8E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 | these are the ones I got. Great value and better than the other two pairs I tried.

u/nedyken · 1 pointr/technology

I think they have 5-8 hours of life. It has a little usb plug to re-charge. I usually do that while I'm at work.

These are the ones I bought for $30, but there's a ton of manufacturers making similar-priced sets. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GNYFT8E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I think a lot of people go for the ones made by Beats, but I read those don't necessarily have the best sound.

I love these though. Even for something like washing dishes, it's nice not to have a cord dangling.

u/notmyname1 · 1 pointr/nexus5x

My daughter is 14 and has said that she is not interested in the over-ears type.

I am seriously considering these.

u/NotTheRightAnswer · 1 pointr/gadgets

Too bad the touch volume slider thinger doesn't work worth a damn. I used mine for years though, but when the headphones started giving out, it was almost the same cost to go to bluetooth earbuds, which I did, and haven't looked back.

u/literal-hitler · 1 pointr/oneplus

They're okay, but I don't use them that much.

They're rated decently on Amazon, and the reviews seem to be real.

u/smldrnheap · 1 pointr/loseit

My boyfriend and I both have these and love them.

u/PinkTenderBuffalo · 1 pointr/bodybuilding

I would recommend these. On sale for 29.99 at the time I posted the link, which makes them cheap enough that if something happens to them within a year it doesn't piss me off too much.

I have had other cheap pairs that didn't connect well and had shitty construction, and these don't seem to have those issues. They stay in my ears great and the sound quality is decent for me for working out.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GNYFT8E/ref=psdcmw_2407776011_t1_B01C228T7E

This model specifically. They sound great and I didn't realize how much better not having the cord would be, but it's really convenient and comfortable.

Edit: Also I use them for work where I'm always moving around and taking them out, wearing them around my neck, etc and they've held up great so far I've had them for about two months now of pretty heavy use, no damage or defects.

u/cha000 · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

I've been using some cheap $27 earbuds since August. They sound good and I won't feel too bad if I lose or break them (like I inevitability will). I haven't used them as much since I got the Pixel XL so I can't comment on battery impact. I know they cut into the battery life on my Nexus 6P pretty significantly.

Got those once I broke my wired ones. They are really affordable with decent quality, main downside is charging them pretty much daily (because I walk to/from work, >6 km one way) since they only last 4-5 hours.

These are what I use at the gym. The sound quality is pretty decent, with great bass (although the clarity and definition is nowhere near on par with proper IEMs), but they isolate extremely well, and have excellent range. Not to mention they're $30.

u/Urgranma · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

As said previously, nothing bluetooth will ever be bifl. That said, buying something durable and cheap in the case of something that will be obsolete in ~5 years is my go to method.

I own both of these:

TaoTronics

Definitely prefer the Phaisers. Super light, long battery life, water resistant (dropped them in a puddle once), and never fall out of my ears.

They are relatively cheap and do their job. Sound is good once you use the right rubber set.

u/PertinentUsername · 1 pointr/malefashionadvice

Unlike most people, I actually like the look, and Apple headphones have always fit me very well. The main problem for me is the price. I use regular apple headphones when at home and I picked up these headphones for working out and they are excellent.

Personally, I would not get them just because they most likely don't have the highest audio quality, especially for the price. You just have to decide if the quality/look/utility is worth the price.

u/LukeGreatGuy · 1 pointr/fitbit

I do it at the gym and I have found that wireless headphones are hugely helpful if you aren't already using them. I stand in front of a mirror and place my phone at my feet in front of me and glance down at it to see what I'm supposed to be doing.

Edit: I use these ones. They were like 38$ and work great.
