I recently bought one of these LED lamps for work. I might get a couple for home, I like it.

One of the lights that I use when I stream on twitch is this one:

Get a great lamp

I'd recommend this over a spot lamp, it's LED, so lasts longer and is more controllable than a standard bulb. It's also super bright and the long strips of LEDs give great coverage.

It also has a bloody USB slot! To charge your phone! How good is that??

I don't use any magnifiers, but desk lamp wise I grabbed this a while ago and really like it.

The max brightness is very crisp, clean light. The lower settings are good for other normal desk lamp uses as well when I'm not painting.

We should have a side bar for lighting, fixtures and bulbs are a big part of preservation and presentation; people don't laugh when we say PP around here!

Overall I like it a lot. I wish it were a little taller to give a bigger spread over the desk, but I like the ability to change temperatures and it throws out a good amount of light.

Yesss here's the lamp. TaoTronics LED Desk Lamp with USB Charging Port, Touch Control, 4 Lighting Mode with 5 Brightness Levels, Timer, Memory Function, Black, 14W https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00APAQSP6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pDYxzb8KB128D

Crochet is pretty easy. Almost all of the blankets I make use the double crochet stitch. YouTube tutorials make it SO easy to learn! I'm serious, if I can do it anyone can. It's been years and I'm still doing almost every project with that basic stitch because my brain is just awful at counting and complex/alternating stitch patterns. I tried knitting once and that was a freaking shitshow hahaha. Tonight I tried amigurimi (crochet stuffed animals basically) and it took me... oh... 3 hours to get the top 1/3 of the head done because I kept losing count and going back to where I thought I messed up and messing it up worse by trying to jump back into the pattern without counting stitches first... ugh. My ADHD makes patterns hard. I can repeat a single stitch thousands of times no problem... it's when you add in increases or decreases that my brain goes LOL NO. But it's time for me to learn something new... ha.

I have a basic table and chair with this LED lamp as the light source. It's very adjustable and has a low footprint so I can make sure I'm not hunched over the table while also having a plethora of brightness / wavelength options to fit my needs. There are brighter lamps available, but I liked the metal construction and the fact that the lamp can be twisted at the top arm. If those factors aren't important to you, this one is cheaper and brighter.

As far as making sure your back isn't wrecked, that can probably be fixed by better posture. Instead of hunching over the table to get a closer look at the figure, sit upright and hold the figure closer to your face. I imagine table height would be the most important factor there since I rest my elbows on the table when I paint, so the table being the correct height means I can sit upright and hold the figure in front of my face.

By the way, I have this desk lamp - it's awesome. Very bright, doesn't give off heat, can change the color temperature (at night I change it to a warmer temp), and has a dimmer.

u/malandrajem · 1 pointr/battlestations

I was hesitant to get it because I thought it was gonna be a lot smaller for some reason, but I love it and it's the perfect size. It can rotate, tilt, have different brightness levels and settings (with an hour auto-shutoff timer button), and has a USB port for charging electronics. And it's a good price on Amazon at around $60.

So I got the idea from this lamp on amazon that has different modes

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00APAQSP6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_sfl_title_2&smid=A2KUZVNQ9LP7N9

I couldn't find any specific studies. But I wouldn't be surprised if changing the colors can help induce focus.

I have the KDP90, and I use this lamp. It does the job pretty well.

This is the one I recently purchased and I LOVE it

My sleep dr at Mayo told me to get a reading light , u can get these nice led ones on at Amazon.

I use this one, it’s awesome. It’s not so bright and has different levels so doesn’t mess up your sleep cycle like turning on lights does.

I was told to read for 30 minutes or however long it takes before I feel tired again. Much better than just laying there in pain trying to fall back asleep.

In the morning, then use 10,000lux light led lamp for 30 minutes while you eat breakfast/morning journal/routine.

now that I’m weening off pain pills, I’m starting to get insomnia again so this my protocol.

u/JudgeMoeDollars · 1 pointr/battlestations

You mean the lamp? I got it off amazon a while back. Best feature is the USB port on the side for charging my phone.

u/wdmartin · 1 pointr/minipainting

I use one of these, which I like because it clamped onto the edge of my desk, can be powered off a USB port from my computer (directly below it), and has a reasonably flexible gooseneck so I can get the light where I need it. On the down side, there's no way to adjust the brightness. I haven't minded because I basically want full brightness all the time so I can see my mini clearly.

When I attended ReaperCon last August, I noticed an awful lot of TaoTronics desk lamps in use.

u/intheglacier · 1 pointr/succulents

I did check my own lamp. It does go up to 6500K. Here is the lamp I own https://www.amazon.co.uk/TaoTronics-Charging-Lighting-Brightness-Function/dp/B00APAQSP6 Just wondering if that is enough for it. thanks:)

u/Captain-Obviouss · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

This one folds down so that it's out of the way

u/chancefire · 1 pointr/minipainting

I use one of these bad boys:
http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics%C2%AE-Elune-TT-DL01-Dimmable-Lighting/dp/B00APAQSP6/ref=sr_1_1?srs=5608252011&ie=UTF8&qid=1412630343&sr=8-1&keywords=desk+lamp
I also have a normal halogen desk lamp on the other side of my desk. My only complaint is that you can't rotate the bar, but that's rarely an issue. It has a USB charger on it too, which is surprisingly useful.

Didn't look too hard then, eh?

I have this lamp and it's great. Four different modes each with 5 different brightness settings. Swivels for different angles and a USB port. I think there are newer models.
