I have the Rep Fitness PR1000 and it's a well built budget rack that we use daily. They just released a slightly newer version (bigger hole spacing) at a really good price of $199+s/h but looks like it's up to $239 now. It's compatible with more attachments than the PR1000 too.

As others mentioned, TDS (aka New York Barbells) has some really great options that are built of slightly better gauge steel, coupled with competitive pricing and free shipping it's hard to beat. Most of their full racks can accommodate an array of different attachments. I've heard their customer service is so-so, but if you deal through Amazon, I'm sure you'd be covered. We have their "Super Open" Half rack and have bolted it down and we're really happy with it. Especially the numbered uprights and pegs for adding bands to our programming.

I got this very recently and it has been working out very well. the square tube they use is hella thick. it also has safety bars but they are a little short if you need to bail on a squat, would be much safer to bail the bar backwards instead of trying to land on their safety bars. for bench press they are more than adequate though.

How do I go about building a gym in the garage where there is a slope? (note: No experience with wood work)
I want to be as cost effective as possible. I was thinking of just getting a platform with enough room for squat rack and deadlift. that's it. Can I just get a piece of plywood (or a couple) and put shims under it to level it out (I read this is what people did in some other posts)? I have no idea what shims are and what I should buy? help me find some links.

and as for matting, I see people have mats on the sides and plywood in the middle. Can't I just have the whole thing be mat? Also I need recs for matting, Ik there's the tractor supply horse stall mats but i checked they aren't sold near me where I can easily get them.

would i be able to use this? https://www.homedepot.com/p/TrafficMASTER-Black-Gray-24-in-x-24-in-x-0-47-in-Dual-Sided-Gym-Floor-4-Pack-24120HDUS/301152506 or

Also this is the equipment I'm planning on getting:

Weights - https://www.dickssportinggoods.com/p/fitness-gear-300-lbolympic-weight-set-16fgeu300lbstwth7brb/16fgeu300lbstwth7brb (just cheap weight plates, the bar I'll use exclusively for bench/ohp)

Bar - https://www.walmart.com/ip/CAP-Barbell-7-Olympic-Bar-1000-lbs-Capacity/19866874

or boneyard rogue bar (someone told me these were good) Which should I get?

Squat rack - https://www.amazon.com/Super-Open-Rack-Gym-NYB/dp/B00U3ABXGW (seems decent, has a lot of holes for adjustment and has 1000lbs capacity, I will always have a spotter for bench and for squat I know how to bail)
