I chose this case after watching "JimmyisPromo" drop a note 8 about 30 times without a scratch. It is thin, compact, and the barrier around it makes holding the phone a hundred times easier. It also has a raised lip which protects the screen:

I went from a Nexus 5x to the Note and am loving the change. I recommend the Tech21 Evo Check. It's not too big and is rubber so it really helps maneuver such a big phone.
