Quick review after using it for a day or so:

Keyboard:
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Keyboard-Ultra-Thin-Wireless-Rotating/dp/B01B6CEUSI

Fit:
The fit is extremely snug. The SP3 is pretty well secured, and I'm not worried about it falling out. The bottom hinges have some sort of rubber or foam-type material to create the grip. I do worry if there is too much pressure on the bottom corners, as this was made for an iPad Pro that is slightly thinner. Only time will tell! Note: the kickstand must be opened up in order for it to fit.

Build quality:
The hinges are creaky and noisy when lifting the tablet up. I'm not sure if this is the case using it with an iPad Pro, as I haven't gotten around to testing it on mine. The keyboard itself feels mostly study, but a little cheap. The keyboard sells on Amazon for $30-35, so it's not exactly a surprise. There is a little bit of flex to the keyboard, but no more than you might expect. The keyboard feels about the size of my 13in MBP from work. Overall it's fairly comfortable, and it just goes to prove that I ultimately want a Surface Book! Having a more traditional laptop setup is much more useful than balancing the SP3 on my laptop with the type cover.

Keyboard/Typing:
Overall it feels pretty good. The keyboard is pretty responsive. Getting it to recognize on boot takes two presses of the on-keyboard power button and a few seconds of waiting. Keyboard travel is fine, but I'm not someone who gets hung up on keyboard quality. It is at least as good as my SP3 type cover, if not better because of the solid, flat form. Some of the dedicated top row keys don't really work, as they are made for iOS. The volume keys work correctly, though. Unfortunately, since iOS doesn't need an escape key, the key in it's location just opens a blank page in Edge. This makes it particularly tricky due to habits when playing games like WoW or FFXIV on my Surface. The command key does work as a Windows key, though.

Misc Thoughts:
Not having a trackpad is a huge hurdle to overcome. My Surface now feels like a laptop, but I keep moving to try and use a trackpad. I won't count it as a negative, obviously, because this was intended for iPads. You absolutely have to use this thing with a mouse, as you can see my Arc Touch mouse.

It might seem obvious, but it is pretty top heavy with the Surface attached. It's not so bad that I feel like it is going to fall over. But if I take my hands off the keyboard on my lap, it does lean back slightly.

Closing thoughts:
It really doesn't make sense that someone hasn't made a product like this for the Surface tablets. If this had a traditional Windows keyboard with hinges made precisely for this device, I feel like it would be an instant buy for most Surface owners. Maybe it would drive people away from buying the Surface Book, so I could see Microsoft not encouraging such an accessory.

Overall, I like it. I will let you all know after using it for a month or so if I still am using it. Not a bad present from my wife, although I wouldn't have said no to a Surface Book!

or there's [this] $30 Bluetooth Keyboard that looks almost identical(https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Keyboard-Ultra-Thin-Wireless-Rotating/dp/B01B6CEUSI). Significantly cheaper, No Trackpad though.

I swear, kids these days just don't know how to google anymore...

Actually, this took me about an hour plus Ali-express cross referencing. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to get one for myself as well!

Long overdue, I use a iPad Pro 12.9 keyboard like this. It fits the surface nicely, though it's a bit tight. I took out the rubber spacers from the hinges and normally extend the kickstand out a bit so that it doesn't go in the hinge (though it does fit - but tighter than I would like).

As it's an iPad keyboard there is no mouse, and I don't even use the keyboard part much - I tend to just use my type cover on top of the keyboard which works nicely, sadly though with the type cover on you can't close the hinge.

I'd possibly get one of these as a better alternative, but considering how well this works and how much less it costs I might not bother
