This guy has a bunch of info including how to make an Upside-Down Terrarium. Personally, I've never had the patience to babysit the glass while it freezes.

I used one of these and a bent piece of wire to plant mine. It takes a LOT of patience.

It helps when you have a drill, electrical tongue, electrical tape, a dense weight tied to a some nylon fishing line, a universal pickup tool, some nylon Wallmates, some Spakfilla, possibly a length of appropriate power cable, heat shrink and a soldering iron.. and a few decades in IT and electronics. :)

A cavity wall is also more than helpful. In fact, without it, you'd have to chase the cable into the masonry and re-paint.

After using some of the items above to pull the cable up from the power source, the <10mm hole that cable comes through was sealed with Spakfilla and the Wallmates were installed directly above and below where the hole was and used to screw in the mount. The cable comes out on a 45 degree angle, sealed between the edge of the mount and the drywall. If you have a masonry wall, you won't need the Wallmates. :)

I also swapped the screws for black ones, later.

Thats pretty small. It will most likely get flushed out if you run water through it. Or you could try a parts grabber to pull it out.

you don't need to put it in service mode. Just get the claw tool, and fold the prongs inward. It fits perfectly into the dipstick and will grab. I've done it a few times already.

Not being able to see it myself, I cannot say for sure what will work the best, but there are a number of ways to retrieve difficult to reach items. They make remote pick-up tools like THIS. Or sometimes a wire like a straightened out coat hanger can be used to attach sticky items to, for sticking onto the item (sticky like tar/gum/tape). Another consideration, you didn't say what bike it is, if the bike is small enough (dirt bike?) you can turn the bike upside down so it can fall out. Also depending on the bike model, on some it is easy to pull the crank gear cover, and just pull the rubber piece out? Hope this helps.

Try something like this:

definitely available at your local hardware store, and very useful to have laying around.
