One day, I was loading the dishwasher and emptied one of my son's thermoses that he had taken to school the day before. I was a bit surprised to hear ice clinking around in the bottle, since it had been over 24 hours since my wife filled it with water and ice.

I sent my wife on a mission to find something more adult, and she found for me the kleen canteen insulated. I took one camping in the 95F heat down here in Georgia, and was quite surprised that the ice lasted about 1.5 days before I had to add more - I suspect it would have lasted longer, but I was constantly filling it up with cold water. It isn't cheap, but I like it. I also had an insulating neoprene sleeve around it, which at the very least, kept it from getting beat up, and may have added to the insulating properties.

The other is the tervis tumbler. At first, I gave my wife a hard time for hording these things, then I realized they work really well for keeping my ice water cold whilest I am working in my office.

I recommend both.
