I got it at E3 this year, but only just got around to reading it. This image jumped out at me as similar to what appeared to be a snow bear from the Frozen Wilds trailer (potentially repurposed for the DLC)

That settles it. The next artbook I buy is going to be Horizon's. I was going to get the Art of the Deux Ex Universe, but this swayed me.

All repurposed, including and especially the Bloodborne cosplay. If you're interested in the concept art for these games, here's a link for the art book for Horizon and NieR.

The Kat render is from the PlayStation Vita, I believe it was a golf game she appeared in.

Apologize for the delay guys, I got the art books and strategy guide off Amazon. This is the first time i'm posting on reddit. Heres the link:

I loved playing this game so much, I have most collectibles of it, including this awesome Thunderjaw figure:

Before the actual game is made, the art teams design the world, characters, items and enemies.

Have you seen some of the art designs for games? Concept art? The ones you may get for example in a booklet if you buy the special edition of a game? These are the ones I mean

That's art.

Then, the developers create the game. Have you seen how they create the 3D models? They use pens to draw on these special screens and digital drawing mats. They design every little detail of a model, as if they are creating a painting or a drawing.

That's also art.

Next, there are storywriters and character designers. A game would feel empty if the story was bad or the characters were just hollow shells. Take The Last of Us for example. The characters and story are better written than a lot of movies I've seen. The game made me cry over the death of a character who I've only known since 15 minutes, something that most movies don't manage.

That's art.

Lastly, some games have amazing soundtracks. And I mean amazing. So good that people like me download them on their mp3 player and listen to them on their way to work. So good that entire national orchestras cover them..

Thats art.

This doesn't apply to every game ever made, but it applies to many games. Video games are an extremely new medium compared to classic art. Music and paintings have been around since literally the beginnings of humanity. Movies have been around since ~1900. This is why video games are not established as "art" in most peoples minds yet. But they undeniably are.

There is a full 192 page artbook that is releasing the same day as the game.

Yeah the Complete Edition will have a physical release. As far as I know it comes with everything on the digital version, so I don't think it will include a physical artbook or anything.

You can buy the physical artbook seperately if you want it:
