This essay is from Harold Bloom's excellent poetry anthology The Best Poems of the English Language which I highly recommend.
Yeah, that's not a bad idea. Much of the poetry comes from The Best Poems of the English Language, but since he doesn't cover more modern ground, I had to look for that myself. As far as Ezra Pound and Auden and Bishop, even Plath, I'm not the biggest fan, so it's hard to choose something when I have a definite opinion one way.
Poetry in translation is much harder than novels and plays. It just seems to matter more. I had Flowers of Evil in there for a while, but took it out. I'll have to look into that again.
