It's good and definitely worth a watch, and if you can, take a look at the book it was based on as well. At one time it was pretty much all there was as a queer film guide.

Check out the documentary Vito which is about the author of The Celluloid Closet, Vito Russo, who was one of the founders of the gay rights movement.

It would be interesting to see a sequel to The Celluloid Closet. There has been a major change in the presence of gay characters and themes in films, but there is still a lot of the same cliche stuff (fabulous guys and tragic tales).
