It's beautifully edited and tells the story through the words of the closest people to him. It's not your normal biography. It's all through the voices of people who were there. It's done so well you actually think and expect Farley makes it through this.

A bit of a warning though. It will ruin the movie Beverley Hills Ninja for you. There is a silver lining there, but I can't bring myself to watch it again.

He played rugby. He was very agile for the size he was.

The book about his life is really good

Chris Farley's attorney brother wrote a biography on Chris. I read it, it's pretty good and well written.

It is discussed in this book. It didn't sit well with Chris Rock either.

Also: I've read the linked essay before, and although Ebert is right about a lot of things, especially regarding addiction, this has to be said--Wired isn't a very good book. Even Ebert describes the book as dispassionate, which is an extremely odd approach to take when writing about someone who was anything but; there's nothing wrong with writers trying to work in an area that's outside of their usual specialty, but he doesn't seem to grasp that his approach--which worked well when he was writing All the President's Men--just doesn't work in a biography of a comedian. Near the end, Woodward details every single time Belushi bought cocaine in the last week or two before his death; it's like a biography of James Dean that documents every single time he drove before his fatal crash.

That having been said, Ebert makes some really sharp observations about Belushi and the people around him; it's a pity that he didn't write the book. Another way to do it would be the approach taken by The Chris Farley Show, a biography assembled by one of his brothers who interviewed all sorts of people who knew Farley, including many of his SNL co-stars. Farley was like Belushi, whom he idolized, in many ways, including dying at the same age from the same thing, and even having the relatively brief period of sobriety not long before he died.

His brother put together a fantastic book, The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts

It is a great read if you are a fan, and includes tons of insight on his life and death directly from people who worked with him like David Spade, Tim Meadows, and many others.
