In my younger days I was friendly with Glasgow author and architectural historian Frank Worsdall who wrote several books on Glasgow.

This one - 'The City that Disappeared: Glasgow's Demolished Architecture' is probably the most damning of the policies of Glasgow Corporation as it was then. Not only is it an excellent read but also highly regarded and as such the National Library of Australia has copies at major locations.

This book is also a great/heartbreaking read for lovers of Glasgow architecture...
