The only official collection of Ghibli movies is the Hayao Miyazaki Blu-ray box from Amazon.
Anything else you find is an illegal bootleg.
An Isao Takahata Blu-ray box was released in Japan, but it has not been released in America.

This is not the first time they released a box like this (meaning the content+design), so they might again in the future. The original price was $215 during pre-order.
It was pulled from the Japanese Miyazaki box set for that reason. It was made available as a free bonus disc with proof of purchase, but only while quantities lasted, and I imagine the print run has been exhausted by now. That distribution decision is probably the reason it ended up being omitted from the Amazon-exclusive US equivalent of the Miyazaki collection too. I'm not aware of any official (licensed) US home video distribution of this short.
I don't think it was pulled from any museum exhibits, though, and AFAIK it's never been shown as a short there.

It has 10 of the 22 "Ghibli" films. No other English BD collection exists, if you see anything it's a bootleg.
You can always independently buy the BD of each film. Currently the Disney licensed ones are on sale at Costco for $18 each.

I'm saving up to buy the ultimate set on amazon but ohhhh man it is gonna be annoying to sell one of my vital organs. These movies are magic and each one has a piece of my mind and soul. Did anyone hear Hayao is not actually retiring? :)
There are no officially released complete sets of the Studio Ghibli films. There are some sets though that you can get, which are official:
Japanese Takahata films
Japanese Miyazaki films
North American Miyazaki films Canada
North American Miyazaki films US
I find the best place to purchase the movies is though Amazon though. They have them all, and since Amazon almost always lowers their prices to match competitors, it tends to be the best price. At the moment, Amazon Canada is matching Walmart, so all the Ghibli films are $19.96.
I think the complete blu-ray collection of Hayao Miyazaki is the best Christmas present!
Most definitely a bootleg set. I fell for it once and bought it, they were pretty bad. Watchable but bad...

It's a little pricey but totally worth it. I personally bought them one by one as they came on sale, but if you want a collectors set that one works. Do note that it's only Miyazaki movies. Wish they had one for the whole studio...
Amazon is not as nice as you think. Stuff like this is clearly fake/pirated yet still for sale on there constantly.
Real official versions are way more expensive.

It's a touch expensive but you look at the price for buying all 8 of these movies on BluRay individually, and it's cheaper in the long run. I pre-ordered it, but if you're patient you can catch a good deal on it. A few weeks after it came out it was down to $199.

Based on the movies inside (and the drawing on the exterior), that seems to be the Hayao Miyazaki Directed Works Collection (or, in Japanese, 宮崎駿監督作品集). You could use google translate on the description in the amazon.jp entry for it or the page for the similar North American release to figure out how to describe it, but it looks like it has a disc for every Miyazaki film from Castle of Cagliostro through to The Wind Arises, with two bonus discs.
I don't know where is best to sell it (I'm not from North America, so I really have no good input here).
I know there's a Blu-ray set exclusive to Amazon, but there's also a single-case, multi-disc DVD set.

Stanley Kubrick: The Master Collection - doesn't include some of his earlier films, unfortunately.

Sweet! I know you guys mainly do recent theatrical releases, but maybe you could watch some of the Ghibli movies? Amazon sells a collection of Ghibli films directed by Miyazaki, and Fathom Events will be having a Ghibli series in theaters this year. The Wind Rises is a more recent film that is intended for an adult audience, so I would recommend that one the most for you guys.
