I'm fudging a little bit with this one ...

The Convergence Theory is actually the second book in the Blood & Bone Trilogy. The first book, The Duality Paradigm, is unfortunately not in the Kindle Unlimited program. I e-mailed the author to ask about that - turns out it isn't eligible because the first book is not exclusively available at Amazon. The second book is in KU, however, and from what she told me I think the third book will be as well. And since the first book is currently a whole 99 cents, and since I quite enjoyed it well ... I thought it was worth mentioning here.

Also be aware that book #3 is not out yet! If you are the sort who prefers to wait for a series to complete ... you may want to check back in a year. Oh, and once again, this book contains explicit gay sex.

Now about the story: Mismatched paranormal detectives investigate paranormal crimes while dealing with the relationship between them - a pretty standard setup. I really like the way the relationship is handled here, however, because the main characters really are mismatched and they really do not understand how to interact with each other terribly well. They make the sort of boneheaded - and perfectly normal - mistakes that romance characters all too often magically avoid. I am not a fan of the 'fated mates' trope in general, but here we see two individuals who may be fated to be together in some mystical sense, but don't have a clue how to deal with that - or want to. The mysteries they deal with are interesting enough and neither telegraphed too badly or too out-of-left-field, but the relationship really is the core of the story.
