I'm a high school journalism teacher, so in addition to those offered up before I'll suggest:

Elements of Journalism A classic.
Inside Reporting This HS/college textbook lays out the basics in a visually interesting format. Try to find an older edition(they're way cheaper).
AP Stylebook If you want to be taken seriously as a professional, your writing needs to look professional. For all its detractors, the AP Stylebook is still the standard for almost every newsroom.
