Nice write up. I wish there was more open sharing like this.

I just released my [first book] (http://www.amazon.com/Fall-Man-Days-Judgment-ebook/dp/B019BJN7FK/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1450735883&sr=1-1&keywords=the+fall+of+man+days+of+judgment) and made some mistakes for sure... almost all of them on the marketing front.

  1. Priced my book too high (although it is a full length novel at 400 pages)

  2. Had no marketing plan ready to go. So I'm slowly figuring all that stuff out.

  3. Had no reviewers lined up.

Having said that, short of delaying the release, I didn't have time for all those things as just learning about how to get the book to market took a while. I designed my own cover (took forever to learn photoshop), did my own typesetting (took a while to learn indesign).

On the positive front, so far anyone who has read the book has really liked it. So I'm happy about that.

But ya, right now I'm a needle at the bottom of a haystack.

I'm taking it in stride though and treating all of this as a learning experience. Which means everything will go MUCH quicker for my second book and be far less stressful.

So the positive, I know the book is genuinely good.

On the negative, I dropped the ball completely on the marketing front.
