It's all really fascinating stuff, and I wonder what Titanfall would be like if Respawn still had access to the assets that THEY created. If you want to know more here is a $3 book about the topic.

Yes it did eventually make money after it cost them a ton of money. You even admit they're in financial trouble. Just because it eventually exceeded expectations doesn't necessarily mean it's enough to finance a sequel.

And you you still didn't answer the basic question why isn't Titanfall on PS4? EA clearly has enough money to have put it on all 4 systems, so why didn't they? They would've made a fortune. Simple, it was a new IP from a talented group of people that were in serious legal trouble at the time and Sony didn't want to help out.
