See a vestibular therapist and a neuro-optometrist for dizziness. For me, I always felt like I was “in a video game” and had severe issues in crowds or busy intersections. What I found, after 3.5 years of seeing docs, was that my eyes and ears weren’t communicating well.

Dizziness can be a variety of things. But you’ll want to google “vestibular therapy” near you and call them to see what you need to do to get an appointment. Vestibular therapists deal with a ton of concussion patients and are in the trenches every day. They can provide guidance and relief.

It’s also possible your eyes got messed up. I had undiagnosed depth perception issues for years that really screwed me up. A neuro optometrist helped me. (But maybe not! Your issue could be unrelated. Every body is different.)

As for the cognitive stuff, there is therapy for that also. I will leave the websites for the therapists that helped me in Chicago, as well as a book that talks about them, but you can try to look for similar services in your area that provide “cognitive fitness” through brain puzzles and neuroplasticity.

It sounds like the dizziness thing is the most pressing issue though. Get in with a vestibular therapist (and maybe a neuro optometrist) and see what they say.

Good luck! You will get better.

The brain absolutely can rewire itself. Some places are implementing treatment just on that.

I wrote a post on here months ago sharing my story. I encourage you to read it and look at my notes. I made this post because one such neuro-optometrist saved my life. Really, I didn't want to live life in misery anymore. It's been so miraculous that I feel a civic duty to share my experience. I'm 80% better and only improving!
