I study astrology and practice planetary magic. The book to read when it comes to this sort of thing is called "The Picatrix", but it's a hard one to get through. For general planetary magic stuff, there's a book called "Planetary Magic" which is much easier to read, and can give you at least a very basic idea about how timing works. Or just google up some Youtube videos with the keywords "electional astrology" or "planetrary magic".

this is the version I bought. Fairly pricey and there are MANY pdfs out there I just prefer hardcopies of books .
