Yeah I agree with you. According to this (excellent) biography, for example, he would practice his swing in front of the mirror for hours and hours to get it perfect. Ted Williams had natural talent, no doubt, but he worked his ass off to hone it.

Supposedly that's how the whole cryogenic thing works. I think.
