Yes, mindfulness meditation, and meditation in general is the main way that I try to deal with my mTBI symptoms, specifically the irritability, depression, anger, scatter-mindedness, etc. I've been to a couple all day retreats but I had been shooting for 45 min. meditation sittings, but it just wasn't working. I stopped meditating and due to my memory problems, I forgot to use the mindfulness techniques and my attitude got a lot worse.

Part of the problem is that I always feel exhausted, so trying to sit for 45 minutes would usually cause me to fall asleep, and since I did not want to fall asleep, I would just skip meditation. Since then I have tried to do 15 min. of meditation twice a day, and that has worked a lot better for me. I'd scale it way back and then slowly increase the time you meditate gradually. If you are like me, then not meditating at all will make life fairly unpleasant.

I have really gotten into this mindful stuff and I think it works great for some of the symptoms I've mentioned. Here are a few of my favorite resources:

To remind me to meditate and log my progress (essential, because I can't remember crap anymore): the Zen Friend app (http://zenfriend.com/).

I got this on audiobook and it has given me a good foundation for using mindfulness:
The Mindful Way Through Depression by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Mark Williams, John Teasdale (Author), & Segal Zindel

And if you want to get a little more spiritual/Oprah with it, the books by Eckhart Tolle are really good: (http://www.amazon.com/Eckhart-Tolle/e/B001H6GZ5K/ref=sr_tc_2_0?qid=1425935800&sr=1-2-ent)
