I read this book awhile ago but I don't know how well accepted it is within the field:

But I thought it was interesting that it explored an aspect of women's sexuality that most people just pretend doesn't exist. Or worse, people believe that a little girl would only masturbate, be curious about sex, "play" with friends if she had been abused. A LOT of girls "practice" making out, petting, etc. with their girlfriends when they're little. They're usually not victims of sexual abuse. They're just curious and developing as the sexual creatures that they are.
I work with children, so I'm around them daily. Also, there is nothing wrong with anybody. Maybe there is something wrong with society that we feel wrong about our normal urges? I suggest you read The Secret Lives of Girls: What Good Girls Really Do--Sex Play, Aggression, and Their Guilt It covers the girl side of the spectrum, but let's be real, this whole thread has been mostly about the supposed sexualization of girls.
