This book which was already mentioned is a good resource on the history of Pop, including Max. Not as much about melodic math and that sort of thing. I took a class through Berkely Online and that's how I know a lot of the math stuff.

This is a great list! I haven't read all of these, but they're definitely on the list. The Song Machine is a book you should add to the industry section. Its a fantastic book that delves into the history of the mega producer, and the cult of Max Martin. It really shone a light on a lot of things for me.
