The Unfinished Revolution: Making Computers Human-centric

Υπάρχει και σε ελληνικά νομίζω. Αφού το διαβάσουν όσοι δεν βαριούνται ή έχουν χρόνο μπορούν να δουν ποιο λειτουργικό είναι καλύτερο σε τι και για να δείτε ότι ακόμα έχουμε δρόμο μπροστά μας. Προσωπικά για μένα πλέον εξαρτάται από τι θέλεις να κάνεις με τον υπολογιστή σου.

Έχω δοκιμάσει linux, mac και Windows. Κατέληξα ότι τo Windows 8 είναι καλύτερο για μένα. Ο λόγος είναι ότι με επιτρέπει να ασχολούμε με αυτά που θέλω να κάνω και όχι με το να μάθω κάθε λεπτομέρεια του λειτουργικού για να κάνω ένα ‘απλό’ πράμα…

Και για να σας πω τι κάνω. Έχω δύο κάρτες Radeon 7970 και τρέχω simulations σε αυτές πού τα αποτελέσματα των simulations τα επεξεργάζονται 24 instances Matlab (μην ρωτήσετε γιατί 24, είναι ολόκληρη ιστορία). Κάθε φορά που θέλω να κάνω simulations το μηχάνημα τρέχει για μέρες στα κόκκινα και δεν έχει κρασάρει ποτέ.

In your last sentence you are probably describing a problem where the blame lies more in my field (software) than in the OP's field (IT). I think Apple gets it, but in locking things down they also piss off a bit contingent of the hard core computer folks that either demand the granular customization or want to be able to tie in via open API's and not be locked down to a specific store front system. I'm not sure if you CAN make both groups happy. Apple seems to me to be going step by step through what's laid out in "The Unfinished Revolution:Human-Centered Computers..."
